It's incredible how good that WW is... If i can pull it together, i might take it to regionals...

by KyKiske on 2008-06-09 08:26 MDT

So many Gr's , where's Lark??

by navajita on 2008-06-09 08:26 MDT

Volrath89 and Ventura felicidades sois unos craks

by FR34K on 2008-06-09 09:05 MDT

Venturaaaaaaaaa, Manzalvania.deck XDDD c´mon!!!
sorry , your pair in quarterfinal ( ww) are imposible, good luck next time.

by TugaChampion on 2008-06-09 09:06 MDT

merfolks power! Is ancestral vision better than ponder in merfolks? I would like to hear from those who have tested. And it would be nice to fit the 4th pro-red kithkin in the side because there are so many ramp decks. One thing I noticed when playing against ramp is that your lord of atlantis pump your opp's colossus and I just faced someone who was playing them main =/

by hellokits on 2008-06-09 09:16 MDT

Warhammer on a Soltari Priest seems a nuts play on these top 8.

by Eldariel on 2008-06-09 10:04 MDT

Weird that WW opted to play it slow and didn't include Sunlances either. Looks solid though.

Also, 9th on breakers sucks. I wanna smash something.

by gypsy on 2008-06-09 11:29 MDT

lark beats everything here except merfolk how does it not top8

by TugaChampion on 2008-06-09 12:33 MDT

it's ronnan playing the WW don't forget that.

by Vecc on 2008-06-09 13:48 MDT

Hot WW. :B

by Chilperic0 on 2008-06-09 14:03 MDT

#hispanos Ftw!

by Eldar on 2008-06-09 14:46 MDT

Ponder > Vision in Fish for many reasons the main one being the ability to keep 1 land hands with a ponder. It digs just as much but a lot faster. Ask the guy who t8ed both SCG opens he plays here and explained it in detail in a thread I forget which one.

by TugaChampion on 2008-06-09 15:04 MDT

But against faeries, reveillark and even the mirror ancestral vision seems better. I dunno I had only made a few games for fun mostly as I won't play anthing important with this T2 and I have a faeries deck even if I needed to.

by GreenSide on 2008-06-09 15:13 MDT

and elves?
Melforks in a metagame witouth elves is the best...

by Volrath89 on 2008-06-09 18:21 MDT

@ TugaChampion: PV said vision was better, so I was trying them. It seems though, than my built wasnt appropiate for playing Visions, thus in THAT build you should just play ponder. There is another option, making the deck more CA oriented, and taking out bannerets, dousings and ponders, for visions, snag and hmm i guess more sygg and probably more counters!
Yeah maybe, but not vs ramp more like vs monored because im not happy to draw more than 1 or 2 pro-red kithkin vs ramp if i dont draw merfolks and their goyfs own me ^^
lol, well in current std u need to be more careful with your lords, vs elves i usually board them out.

@ hellokits: Yeah it was the nutz for me bcuz my commands were more awezome :]

@ GreenSide: My sb is "tuned" to beat elves, its still my worst match-up though...

@ everyone thinking Ronnan's deck is good: EVERY deck that no one knows played by a good player does well in a tournament, simply because you dont know what are you playing against! and you dont know how to play. For example on swiss rnds when I played vs Ronnan in g1 I attacked "safely" with 2 x Cursecatcher with lot of counters on hand and he plays a FLASH + SPLIT SECOND guy and blocked! that owned me :P , then in g2 i mulliganed to 5 into a 1 lander. In finals knowing his decklist and with a little more luck I could easily defeat him.

by zchen on 2008-06-09 20:27 MDT

Volrath

Did you sb in Teferi's moat against RG ramp, RG beats, and/or monored?

by Volrath89 on 2008-06-09 21:15 MDT

2 against ramp, then they could only win me with magus or primmal command

not against rg aggro if i say green they have crusher, gargadon.. if i say red they have goyf, i only play a 5 cc in merfolk when its almost gg for my opponent.

against mono red depends of the version, if they play crusher, boggart ram, gargadon, probably yes but no more than 2, if they are nore sligh-ish, then no way!

Moats are there mostly for elves..

by flick_mao on 2008-06-09 21:52 MDT

how good is Grove of the Burnwillows in ramp? it lessen your snow count and i think karplusan forest is better.

by _S3BAS_ on 2008-06-10 02:45 MDT

#hispanos > magic-league

by Kenseiden on 2008-06-10 08:06 MDT

its the faerie hunting season.

no faeries in the top8!

and my personal congratz to Ronnan for running such original deck.

but ajani seem so bad =[

by guysmiley on 2008-06-11 22:48 MDT

Agreed! Its does appear to be Fae hunting season, but at least the other decks can hold their own.

It almost felt like Affinity again.

by thedarkness on 2008-06-12 06:33 MDT

@ Kenseiden: Ajani is the sex, I tested him in maybe 4 different ww builds a while back.

@ cm_: YOU DROPPED ME AFTER ROUND 1 NOSHOW? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? I ASKED YOU TO LET ME LOSE THE WHOLE SWISS! ;-;

by PedroDores on 2008-06-13 15:34 MDT

-.-

by bajan on 2008-06-18 07:34 MDT
