The vengeance of green?

by [DT]Archi on 2008-06-02 21:27 MDT

Mana ramp!!! ftw!!!!

by MaksymG on 2008-06-02 21:43 MDT

wow, faeries doesn't put on a great performance at the gp and people just stop playing the deck...

by kfcman on 2008-06-02 22:11 MDT

maybe 'cause the GP was block ya twit.

You mean pro tour? It did just fine at the PT. Put up large numbers like it was supposed to, and then, because there was a bullseye on its back it got routed, just like WW at PT Yokohama last year.

And the green decks are good against faeries in general.

BTW, Meta breakdown?

by magicbmx on 2008-06-02 23:37 MDT

see why couldnt i see the elves and stuff but no i had to see merfolks with the red shaman deck lol. dam deck with 13 board cards with me when elves is easier for me

by Lynolf on 2008-06-03 00:50 MDT

LOL and thinking I beat Redblade that day in a mini, although I was very lucky. Good going Redblade. ;)

Guess Nameless1's deck is still on top. Go go go Nameless1!

by gypsy on 2008-06-03 04:57 MDT

only nameless1 can win with it

by Britsolid on 2008-06-03 07:23 MDT

Agreed.

Gratz top 4.

by Jacois on 2008-06-03 07:57 MDT

nice decks, congrats.

by Rosella on 2008-06-03 08:05 MDT

Can someone go and check how many faeries played in this trial? (I didn't play so can't check)

I did play in the scrub mini that started a little later and out of 49 players only 3 used faeries. (two of them went 0-1) This is quite a change...

by diablo2666 on 2008-06-03 08:33 MDT

there were 9 faries in this trial! 126 people particpated, that means: faries only 7 %

woah this is a change! and so many people played elves, merfolk, lark, burn , quick'n'toast and some ramp... meta has really changed...

by gypsy on 2008-06-03 09:30 MDT

rosella you dont need to have played to check what decks were played you just click the latest tournament link on the side of the page and then find the trial.

by Lantero on 2008-06-03 10:37 MDT

He is only lazy

by Nameless1 on 2008-06-03 10:58 MDT

Ever thought that I was testing the R/g deck for nationals? Besides its the deck that I have irl now. Also it is the deck that suits me most and I love the thinking and math behind it.

by GregorClegan on 2008-06-03 11:24 MDT

So I choose the right deck for the tourney, but I ran into one of the few faeries decks (in round 2) and he had multiple games with turn 1 visions turn 2 bitterblossom and barely edged me 2-1. Not lucky.

by ChristPunchr on 2008-06-03 11:29 MDT

Don't over complicate your deck. Swing, sac and a little more addition and subtraction than some decks. If you are talking about working out percentages, then every deck is capable of utilizing the same math by trying to predict the likelihood of drawing something. Shit, a deck with card draw in it could actually have more of "math" because of the variables that card draw creates.

Not hating, just saying that it is a fucking aggro deck. Saying there is math in an aggro deck above others is like the WCW commentators ten years back saying that a wrestling match was a "scientific" on. The only math you get out of that deck is addition and subtraction. Thrilling. I am not a math wiz by any means, but neither is a twelve year old kid that could do the same math ease.

I like the deck, but it is so not a fucking techy math deck. It's a smash face and make sure to bring lots of counters to ptq's deck.

by Rosella on 2008-06-03 12:49 MDT

thx gypsy!

by vdemario on 2008-06-03 13:31 MDT

What kind of math do you expect to see at Magic? The moment I see a Riemann integral I'll try not to freakout.

by Burton911 on 2008-06-03 13:32 MDT

gogo manaramp

But why u move the Garruks back into the Mainboard?
The arent that good against Faeries -.-

But it seems that im not the only one who Plays Goyfs instead of Grim Poppet and the Rampent Growth with Cycling

by Lynolf on 2008-06-03 16:33 MDT

What's wrong with playing the same deck over and over? If a deck is fun to play for someone and, at the same time, strong, why not?

by ChristPunchr on 2008-06-03 17:06 MDT

That's exactly my point, vdemario. The math in mtg is children's math almost. That's why I can wrap my head around it. To say you like the math of a deck that uses tokens is basically saying "I like retard math durrrrrrr" or "I read Highlights kids".

It's an admission of idiocy.

Though I have to say again that I like the deck.

You have got to love Pro Tours. Even so, take into account the faerie mirrors rely off skill and draws. So, because Hollywood was packed with faeries its likely that (we'll lie and say) 20% of the MU's were faeries. Then the skilled player would win, but when that player plays an aggro"I kill faerie decks) They will lose.

by Chico_Ze on 2008-06-04 08:10 MDT

Faeries is still the best deck :/.

by D_A on 2008-06-05 14:15 MDT

Agreed, people just like netdecking top8 decks cause it makes them feel speeeecial : D.

On a less sarcastic note, LOADS of people HATE playing faeries even though it wins... even I a really obsessive-compulsive control player really HATE playing the deck itself... and knows a lot of people who does too (look all the hate the pests gets on every magic forum eva xD)

And congrats on the ramp win ^^ Love that deck.
