OMG gypsy top3ed a trial!!! The world is doomed.

by Jacois on 2008-05-14 05:11 MDT

Call it "Goyfa Lisa" obv

I never play Legacy, but I copied Keysam's Mono Black Aggro and went 2-1 losing to d3m0n. The deck is a riot to play, and I would reccommend it to anyone who's intimidated to play Legacy. It's a very easy deck to play, and can be quite vicious.

by TugaChampion on 2008-05-14 05:35 MDT

no call it gypsy teh pro!

by d3m0n on 2008-05-14 10:36 MDT

worst landstill list i have seen a long time at #1.

1 Wasteland is sooo strong ... never play more.
But it seams luck can bring any1 to the top.

by skye on 2008-05-14 11:09 MDT

lol, you do know that is one of the accepted best UWb Landstill lists (except for Jace>2nd Decree)?
wasteland hurts you more most of the time, because you are the control deck profiting from all that land in play - and if it is needed (utility lands) it can be fetched via Tolaria West, too.

by TugaChampion on 2008-05-14 12:25 MDT

gypsy that's why it should be called gypsy teh pro.

by therooster on 2008-05-14 13:36 MDT

I love "langstill"

by Lenin on 2008-05-14 13:55 MDT

the grinder list really looks random. I like the "half" trinked board in combination with only 2 mages, espacially the single nought. did you drop it once gyps?

by mossivo1986 on 2008-05-14 14:05 MDT

First off the first place list is obviously uwb still. It's missing humility, which if you didnt know wins games. It looks like you basicly took Der's list and twisted it making it a splash between tacosnapes list and der's, which is bad. Take out jace add back decree as it's probobly the most consistent finisher for landstill other then maybe the manlands themselve

d3m0n is such a sore loser

by TugaChampion on 2008-05-14 15:11 MDT

gypsy is teh pro so he always draws 1ofs when he needs them.

worst landstill list i have seen a long time at #1.

Well, the worst Landstill list you've seen just beat your ass, kid.

by gypsy on 2008-05-14 15:26 MDT

and the dreadnought wasnt good i never trinket for it. i would cut the stifles and the naught for thoughtseizes. yes i know it looks random but i wanted a list that had the combo but didnt completely rely on the combo like ive seen some lists use. i made it into a kinda threshold/chase rare deck so u could actually do stuff when you couldnt combo off and it worked out rly well

I visit m-l for the tech, but I stay for the humor!

by Trotsky1 on 2008-05-14 16:23 MDT

It's clear gypsy's deck is a work in progress, no one gets there deck perfect first time round not even zvi. But when an untested list can do reasonbly well in a trial its generally a sign that your doing more right than wrong and there is grounds to test further now and work on the idea and make something better.

And M-l is better then any comedy club in the world even my local one in atlantis.

That list isn't bad at all, the removal package is fairly standard (3 wrath, 3 EE, 4STP). The wishboard is solid, versatile without frivolous slots.

You are right about the MD wastes though. Not because md wastes are necessary, just because he's running worse cards in those slots. He's wasting a slot on the Academy Ruins, which is very overrated atm. What is recurring EE at a max of 3 going to do for you? Yeah it's GG vs. Thresh, but do you know what else is? ANY CARD IN YOUR DECK.

Without Academy Ruins, Tolaria West can also be dropped, leaving you with 3 md wastelands.

Dredge is a problem matchup for the deck, and the 3 MD EE's aren't going to cut it against Ich recursion. 4 Extirpates in the side is a must, perhaps dropping the slaughter pact, a plague, or a meddling mage.

I'd say the same for D3m0n's list, Disk recursion is more powerful than EE recursion, but even slower still. Drop the Ruins, it wont win anything for you the rest of your deck wouldn't have anyway.

I'm guessing Elfandor's Extirpates mattered in the mirror match, but I could be wrong. I don't see why any Landstill deck running black wouldn't want 4 in the board.

by gypsy on 2008-05-14 17:07 MDT

actually i lost g1 to d3m0n because of disk+ruins. ruins is so good vs like sui black and other decks because they cant beat recrsion so u can get duressed and hymmed all u want then u just ruins back EE and wog them.

No Faeries?
