Eldariel on 2008-05-02 21:21 MDT Painter's Grind in Vintage Top 4. That's just...wrong and scary on so many levels. by Haro on 2008-05-02 21:30 MDT Ya... all he needed was 4 pyroblast and 4 REB maindeck and the best pairings in the world...
by neckfire on 2008-05-02 21:31 MDT how and the hell did painters grind make it to top 4?and flash did old sliver kill wow....so many surprises in this top 4. by Daveslusher- on 2008-05-02 22:13 MDT ..i think thats LSV's Doomsday deck....... also all grind needed was flash flash and flash.... he has 11 HArd counters vs blue obv he's gonna be fine by Conkisstador on 2008-05-02 23:01 MDT what made u play trikes x3 instead of at least 1 grim poppet? by trueeevil on 2008-05-02 23:08 MDT Shoot for the head! And these lists are very wrong. :( by wox2 on 2008-05-02 23:12 MDT Good tourney. Except for troubles with security code... score in final 0:2, score in final without game loss 2:1 :-(. I still don´t know why but I noticed I have not the same security code in MWS as security code I use during playing tourneys. My opponent noticed that before I uderstand what is security code for. It was probably caused by me not having Shadowmoor MWS base. Anyway I thanks my luck for having so often fastbond in my opening or top 10 cards as I had :-D It was really nice to answer my round 1 opponent´s Turn 1 Jester´s Cap by kiling him in my Turn 1. by SteveMan on 2008-05-03 01:44 MDT Vintage is wrong in general
by Lunarvoltage on 2008-05-03 02:47 MDT Every non-Vintage format is wrong in general by VsTheWorld on 2008-05-03 06:16 MDT wox2: It's like Fastbond was attracted to you or something. Game 1 you drop it turn 2 with no tutor, Game 2 you have Force for my turn 1 3sphere AND turn 1 Necro. Seems pretty good. Congrats on the finish. More congrats to Ehri for representing Workshops with a win though.
by Ownj00 on 2008-05-03 06:33 MDT lsv's doomsday list runs more then 1 doomsday by mrwegle on 2008-05-03 06:54 MDT To all U don't think that Painter's Grind has very good matches with all top 4? I think he could lost in semifinals game only for luck by Eldariel on 2008-05-03 09:18 MDT Painter's Grind is a fundamentally bad deck. It's like Flash except its combo costs 6 mana, not 2, isn't an instant, is affected by Null Rod and neither part of the combo pitches. If you think about playing it, you should just play Flash instead. Whatever good match-ups it may have, Flash is better at.
by YTheAlien on 2008-05-03 09:21 MDT Very disappointing finish as I lose with complete control of the board due to time. My round 1 opponent didn't even know how to change his MWS name. My round 2 opponent cast spells into his own Chalice to waste time until the round was over to win on life. by wox2 on 2008-05-03 09:45 MDT Eldariel: Have you thought about Pyroblasts and Red Elemental Blasts + Servant? It doesn´t seem to be wore than Flash. It is just another way. But deck rely much on CC 1. I believe it needs some Rebuilds/ Hurkyls to be able win throught Chalice for 1. Deck looks prett good on Legacy (I won yesterday dual with it) and competetive on Vintage. Deck is resistant to Leyline of the Void-Null Rod, Needle... hate can be blasted. Deck is not so bad. by Eldariel on 2008-05-03 12:29 MDT Yes, I have wox. If that Servant were a Flash, you would've won instead of putting together a cute combo. by ykpon on 2008-05-03 13:02 MDT "It's like Flash except its combo costs 6 mana, not 2, isn't an instant, is affected by Null Rod and neither part of the combo pitches."
by wox2 on 2008-05-03 16:39 MDT None deck can be as fast as flash is. Flash has more death cards-just grindstones do nothing without servant, pyroblasts work vs flash and 3/4 of field extremely well. Grindstone is not working under Needle and Null Rod but both can be vindicated(blasted) and compared to other combo decks it is resistant to Leyline. Both decks has their weakness. You won´t be so fast but you will control game-It is one aspect of game that Flash hasn´t often. by Chico_Ze on 2008-05-03 17:12 MDT Vintage > Tugachampions mother. by hellokits on 2008-05-03 17:41 MDT ykpon, wont something like 1 Dreadnaught and 3 Trinket Mage, be better than Titan and the other 3 Grindstones? I'm not really sure about the Titan can you really hard cast it with 2 Islands, 4 Volcanic Islands and 2 Moxes?
by ykpon on 2008-05-04 06:07 MDT hellokits: one of two times i drew titan i hardcasted it. but i hope u understand its for tinker here. and if i draw it i can put it on top with storm, shuffle with fetchland etc. i thought about dreadnaughts and trinkets but desided 3 mana is too much in this format in such deck for such cards as trinket. mb i was wrong, need more testing. by Lunarvoltage on 2008-05-04 06:23 MDT Why 1-of Ravager in the Workshop deck?
by hellokits on 2008-05-04 08:42 MDT ykpon: lol I didn't see the tinker there.
by stopper on 2008-05-07 14:41 MDT the workshop agro looks very simular to the deck i won SCG chicago with :) by crewrunnin on 2008-05-25 13:10 MDT Why don't some good people just play GAT. Then everyone would stop bitching about a crappy meta. All we need is a little more Goyf in the T4 and people will recognize! RGB aggro FTW!!!!
