Good lord. Cloudhtesher and Cyptic Command in the same deck? Just wondering how that worked out for you?

So the 1º winner of T2 with Shadowmoor cards is Red Deck Wins without Greater Gargadon or Countryside Crusher. Interesting...

And guess now UG is back and Mana Ramp is GW. Shadowmoor really has an incredible power. Besides changing Lorwyn, it also changes old decks! O_O

Spooky...

by standarizeMA on 2008-04-23 18:14 MDT

=/ i should've played. g/w tempo with g.wish and primal command beats rdw =[

by Lantero on 2008-04-23 18:57 MDT

Only like the first deck :/

RDW is not red deck wins, it's red/green tarmoburn. UG needs more tuning I think...seems like an attempt at a rehash of an older idea, but with really strange control elements. No snakes...seems like you are trying to hate flying meta, is this cause of Reveilark or however you spell it? Mana Ramp...I wonder if anyone has tried using the new green, expensive mana flare?
well whatever...

by rastibaxas on 2008-04-23 20:42 MDT

thanks paulo!!

by the way i see, your deck just kick ass all the actual enviroment.

why u didnt drop???? damn....

the flying hate isnt vs reveilark its vs the best deck in t2, faeries, although im not sure if its still the best post shm

by Lumbalgic on 2008-04-23 22:50 MDT

I lost versus yamiyugi (rdw) because my computer turns off lol thats bad luck =(

by sexican on 2008-04-24 00:00 MDT

I think I would have used Twilight Shepherd and/or Woodfall Primus instead of Oversoul in GW Ramp. Then again, a 4th turn Oversoul is a 4-turn untouchable clock against a lot of decks, hmm...

by TugaChampion on 2008-04-24 03:24 MDT

Are 8 green mana sources enough to support goyf? I just wish there was a better RG dual other than the land that gives life to your opp...

by Eldariel on 2008-04-24 04:48 MDT

Tuga: Gemstone Mine and Manamorphose are both workable.

by TugaChampion on 2008-04-24 06:51 MDT

Yeah gemstone mine might be fine and you can also sac it to Shard Volley when it only has 1 counter.

Btw if I have a gemstone mine with 1 counter and I have shard volley and I play it by tapping the mine for R removing the last counter and sac it to shard volley?

I think 10 green sources should be enough so you don't have to play with 4 mines.

by Lantero on 2008-04-24 06:58 MDT

U can't sac it for shard volley because u must sac gemstone as a part of resolution of the mana abilitie. So, when u can use the mana, u don't have the land.

by Krastino on 2008-04-24 07:54 MDT

The first deck is really nice, but I think that the green is not necessary. Tarmogoyf is obviously strong, but if you go MonoRed you have a more solid manabase, you can play Mutavault instead of Ghitu and you can play Countryside Crusher, that is very very strong...
What do you think about it?

by Art on 2008-04-24 08:13 MDT

Tarmo works well against the mirror :P

by Eldariel on 2008-04-24 08:28 MDT

Tarmogoyf is the best card in the format. No reason not to play it. As I commented during the tournament, I'm the better player but he has a better build; 5/6 Goyf is something that races blue aggro very well while killing red decks. It's a 2-for-1 almost always vs. red and red mirrors are all about card advantage (incidentially why Dragon's Claw sucks in the match-up even though someone might think it could be good).

You can play ~2 Vaults even in Rg, but you must remember that the deck needs RRR for Flame Javelin and Boggart Ram-Gang, which means that you don't want very many colourless sources (although Manamorphose and Fire-Lit Thicket alleviate that somewhat).

by SaTiVa on 2008-04-24 10:28 MDT

I dont think Boggar Ram-Gang seem that good but i guess i might be wrong how did he contend for u over the day paulo?

by Tonya on 2008-04-24 12:44 MDT

You'll know how good it is when someone plays a turn 1 Tattermunge Maniac, turn 2 Keldon Marauders and turn 3 Ram Gang and you fall over. Ram Gang is amazing.

by sandoiche on 2008-04-24 13:36 MDT

I lost to mono red in g1 by mulling to 4... i had 11 cards against mono red deck, but i still lost when he drew into exactly damage b4 i start playing my threats (after 3 finks)

gj paulo, i am glad u lost to that mono red :/
