Eldariel on 2008-04-17 17:36 EST What the heck is up with late drops nowadays? In the last week's trials, we've regularly had at least one drop per trial after round 4. This one had 2. What're you guys doing? by Eldar on 2008-04-17 17:56 EST 2nd. Interesting deck choices. by Lynolf on 2008-04-17 17:59 EST Stuffy Doll? Pyrohemia? Only 1 Nantuko Husk? O_O
by KerZia on 2008-04-17 17:59 EST No faeires on top3 ?... oh they all droped before xD by Eldariel on 2008-04-17 18:15 EST Pyrohemia is a bomb against Faeries, so it's pretty self-explanatory. Doll, on the other hand, works fine against anything aggro and we seem to have a lot of it, so it kinda makes sense. by Finntroll on 2008-04-17 18:49 EST Pyrohemia is a bomb as long as you can get it to stick. I'm surprised Reveillark decks aren't making it seeing as how there's not as much hate, I mean GR Ramps best out against them is to drop an Akroma and race.
by Kurse on 2008-04-17 20:03 EST Nah, I don't blame you for losing. I blame bad luck. I didn't draw any Grave Pacts in all 3 games of the finals. And he boarded in Stuffy Doll because "it blocks my Gargadon". -_- The pyrohemia woulda been extremely good versus me as I have no way to get rid of it. I coulda cared less about Stuffy Doll. All I needed was a Grave Pact or a Profane Command to kill the dumb thing. But, alas, he double Skred'd me out of the game. Damn, 6 damage Lightning Bolts... by meloku79 on 2008-04-17 20:36 EST pyrohemia is awesome against faeries, as for stuffy doll...i mainly have it in there for the mirror. its very good in the mirror match, plus it isnt bad against certain aggro decks. In the finals, i boarded it in against Kurse because gm 1 he beat me with a husk w/ fear and i knew the deck played gargadon. so, in came the dolls against the gargadons and the profane commanded husks! Besides in gm 3 he hit me w/ 3 earwig squads taking my threshers, colossus', and my siege gangs out of my deck. so i dont understand why he couldnt win that game :/ by Lantero on 2008-04-17 21:26 EST @Eldariel: Party
by gypsy on 2008-04-17 22:20 EST why do people always assume that theyre spells will never resolve agaisnt faeries. and reveilark isnt played that much because it sucks and is very overrated by Kurse on 2008-04-17 23:14 EST The husk that dealt you 18 points of damage in one swing was game 2. Game 1 was where I mull'd to five and despite having 2 Grave Pacts and 3 Marsh Flitters in hand, I never hit 4 land. There were people posting on here that 25 land is to much, but I am seriously thinking 26 is the correct number. Or else adding Mind Stones. I have seen some lists that play 3 mindstones and 24 land. by Malice on 2008-04-17 23:42 EST Way to go meloku, you're just lucky that I'm not around anymore..... ;)
by poopascoopa on 2008-04-18 01:28 EST It's "you're." Not your.
by sgtpepper87 on 2008-04-18 04:05 EST gratz to top 3 by ismaelmtg on 2008-04-18 04:51 EST =\ mull for 2 in semi-final...
by Eldariel on 2008-04-18 06:18 EST Finntroll: The way to win against Faeries is having enough game-ending bombs to run them out of their counters. Between Cloudthresher, Pyrohemia, Sulfurous Blast, Siege-Gang Commander et co. you've got a large number of absolutely must-respond threats half of which are instant speed allowing you to play their game. Really, it's one of the better plans I've seen for the match-up. by gypsy on 2008-04-18 06:52 EST its funny how everytime a deck top4s here they are always called something different even if its the same base deck by TugaChampion on 2008-04-18 08:18 EST LOL manaramp with 8 maindeck hate cards vs. faeries and 5 more in the SB! Not even dredge was devoted that much hate! by gypsy on 2008-04-18 09:01 EST except blast isnt a hate card vs faeries its just one of the best cards in t2 right now by Lantero on 2008-04-18 09:11 EST Both cards are very good for itself:
by Kurse on 2008-04-18 13:28 EST Fae has to answer siege-gang commander? It produces 3 tokens, all of which bitterblossom alone takes care of by itself, not to even mention Scion. Perhaps I am giving Fae to much credit, but I really don't think Siege-Gang is GG for the Fae deck, not like how a Pyrohemia can be. by Shagrath on 2008-04-18 13:49 EST Pyrohemia was good, when it was a surprise... now ppl are going to expect it , so it will become bad as well, so pyroclasm and sulfurous blast are again better weapons against faeries. by gypsy on 2008-04-18 15:22 EST while seige gang is good its not that good vs faeries by meloku79 on 2008-04-18 15:23 EST Playing against faeries i usually side out the siege gangs anyhow.I side in the colossus, pyrohemia, and squall line in place of the seige gangs and harmonizes. by TugaChampion on 2008-04-18 17:02 EST LaNTeRo and gypsy: I know that. I said that half serious half joking. Still Ramp used to play Hellkite until faeries became popular and they switched to 4 cloudtreshers taking out all hellkites.
by Lantero on 2008-04-18 17:54 EST Sulfurous Blast is also fine in the mirror, dealing with 2 important threats, Garruk and Siege-Gang.
