Puddingritter has the perfect plan ... I drop to let sandmann1 win it :P

by Eldar on 2008-04-16 15:18 MDT

3rd.

by SchwipSchwap on 2008-04-16 15:31 MDT

Puddingritter yay! :o)

by sandoiche on 2008-04-16 16:05 MDT

puddin what?

by danprince10 on 2008-04-16 18:07 MDT

What are all these comments talking about? Why would you let sandman go through?

by poopascoopa on 2008-04-16 18:21 MDT

Why does Balanced Survival only run 3 Survival of the Fittest?

I realize it won 1st place, but I'd think a deck based and built around a certain card would run 4 of them.

by aldaryn on 2008-04-16 19:42 MDT

Well, that version of the deck has more than one theme running, and it's certainly less dependent on Survival than other builds. It could easily just go the Thresh route and never look for Survival at all.

I think Counterbalance warrants 3 Divining Tops, though.

by Ownj00 on 2008-04-16 20:04 MDT

also, why on earth not run the one trinket mage?

by gypsy on 2008-04-16 21:12 MDT

because trinket mage is inefficient in that deck

by natethetank on 2008-04-16 21:54 MDT

i wish this trial was scheduled like 3 hours later so i could play. i think i could have top 3ed with ub fish again.

by Holzi on 2008-04-16 23:18 MDT

jay sandmann1, YOU ARE BACK

by georgjorge on 2008-04-17 00:54 MDT

I always thought Survival in a blue cantrip shell couldn't work, since both approaches together would be too mana hungry...but now that deck Top3ed in the last two trials, there might be something going on.

Is that build based on the CaNG entry from Der_imaginäre_Freund over on the Source ?

by YuanTi on 2008-04-17 04:31 MDT

Yes it is. Freund's version plays much nicer too.

by Comodo on 2008-04-17 07:35 MDT

#mtg.de yaayayyyaayayay Puddingritter yayayayayayayay gogo we are the champions :D

by cm_ on 2008-04-17 07:48 MDT

georgjorge: actually it's team ayb's approach on Survival/Thresh, article here: http://www.planetmtg.de/articles/artikel.html?id=3811

by natethetank on 2008-04-17 08:58 MDT

yaun ti i would call it 4 color fish. although alot of its card choices are really subpar i could definitly see taking his deck aand making it good.

by gypsy on 2008-04-17 11:47 MDT

how can people not win with thresh this meta is perfect for it

by KeySam on 2008-04-17 11:54 MDT

I like the top 3 and mtg.de ftw !

by Sandmann1 on 2008-04-17 14:35 MDT

Two of the top3 decks are horrible matchups for tresh...btw trinket mage sucks hell and 2 tops are perfect because balance hits often at random and with 4 brainstorm and 3 ponder you can always put the right card on the top. I wouldnt change ANY card in the deck at all.

by magicbmx on 2008-04-17 15:30 MDT

ya i hear that and dam belcher beating me round 3 by the last 2 games going off by turn 2 both games. as for the survival deck its ok but sligh u know the rbg that didnt 0-1 is good against it. but hey it happens lol

by roodabagel on 2008-04-17 19:56 MDT

Looks like i'm going to have to enter one of these trial again <3
