FIRST!!! ^^

How good was Merfolk Assassin? =/

Nice top4. Faeries went out; Doran went in :O

by android on 2008-04-10 17:25 MDT

I was in finals vs pv... wheres my deck?

by Daveslusher- on 2008-04-10 17:27 MDT

WOW. PV what a suprise...

by android on 2008-04-10 17:33 MDT

wow and i beat zerg before playing PV, that doesnt make sense

by KerZia on 2008-04-10 17:33 MDT

lol @ ZerrG's deck! What a pile of junk!! Shame on all who lost to that!!

** :)

by LinkSpitfire on 2008-04-10 18:02 MDT

android, you only had 9 points, all these players have 12+. and how come almost everyone plays the same 3-4 decks? why not play cards like lightning angel, mystic snake or teferi? are they simply not good enough? btw, merfolk assassin looks like a real killer.

by Jaum on 2008-04-10 18:07 MDT

Haha...Nice Android!! In a single elimination champs u lost 2 matchs =O

Anyway nice decklist PV and ZeerG

by PV on 2008-04-10 18:32 MDT

something is wrong, I did play android in the finals

by android on 2008-04-10 18:48 MDT

I thought it went by who got at the top, not points, since its single elim-
round 1 my opponant tried to whine about stupid stuff and judge got confused and gave him the win and then had to put me back in with auto bye- then I got bye the next round...
guess it makes sense... oh well...

Mighta had win but for PV's (truly accidental) accidental cheating in game 3, 4 cryptic commands in a row when he had 3

Played updated KavuJustice-- Fiery Justice really puts a hurt on most of the metagame

by PV on 2008-04-10 18:59 MDT

well, to be honest I think I'd have won regardless =/

by Delicious on 2008-04-10 19:46 MDT

wow assassin to take out changelings..

i like it :D

nice job PV

by android on 2008-04-10 20:08 MDT

or vs mirror, delicious?

by Tms-Rock on 2008-04-10 20:21 MDT

Yeah Merfolk A. Is pretty nifty

by Christopholo on 2008-04-10 21:20 MDT

Hey PV - couple questions if you don't mind: What's up with the 1 main Remove Soul? Wouldn't you rather run one Sigg or something? Also in the sideboard, aren't the Remove Souls and the Flashfreeze boarded in against the same decks (green creatures)? Like how exactly would you board against Elves or Mana Ramp? Do you board in Flashfreeze against Sligh? Seems like there's some overlap going on

Thanks :D

by perep on 2008-04-10 21:30 MDT

i dont understand why not remove soul isn't more played.
actually,t2 is dominated for infinites creatures

by mojo_jojo on 2008-04-10 21:42 MDT

I like how even Doran without Bitterblossom still beats most of the field...

by gypsy on 2008-04-10 22:34 MDT

there is bitterblossom in that list

by third_place on 2008-04-10 23:11 MDT

The 1 remove soul is maindeck because we can't play 5 sage's dousing ;_;

by Conkisstador on 2008-04-11 00:18 MDT

merfolk assasin is fantastic and thanks PV for ruining it. iwa nted to make fish as popular as possible and then play my tek against it and colossus etc but nooooooo
;-)
there's stilla few pieces optimal lsits are missing. but PV filled the other gap with ponder. ponder is SO good. u never notice it... but its FANTASTIC

by gypsy on 2008-04-11 00:33 MDT

is white just for forgetender rly necessary?

by KrovikanMist on 2008-04-11 00:43 MDT

GO MERFOLKS!!

by center425 on 2008-04-11 01:10 MDT

gerryt's list +the assains i believe

by Conkisstador on 2008-04-11 01:20 MDT

android that means u must have gotten DQ for illegal decklist and thus they dont show you

by YWNightmare on 2008-04-11 07:16 MDT

burrenton forge-tender >>>> Sulfurous Blast

by Mastikor on 2008-04-11 08:09 MDT

I should've played PV at the finals, given only enough time in the office. Well maybe next time... And special thanks to my friend Lorenzo V., hope you're reading this, for the changes and the tech vs moon! And to Lucapparoz, thnx for the URL pal! =))

Hi

I'll try to answer that to the best of my abilities cuz I just copied gerry Ts list and changed some cards without giving it much thought:

1 MD remove soul: room. I thought the fourth dousing would be better than the second remove soul, so I cut it. 1 Sygg seems bad - it's worse than all te other merfolks, it doesnt get its cost reduced by banneret and there are only 8 white sources (that I dont think should be there anyway, they were more of a liability than help)

The Flashfreeze and Remove soul do overlap, but I cant play 6 flashfreezes I guess. The only deck I wanted both was against the Kavu/Justice deck I played on finals, and only when I was on the play, so I guess yeah they can go as well. I just don't know what I'd sideboard instead, since the SB options look so bad.

I do board in flashfreeze vs sligh... when I played vs sligh, I did -4 sower -4 dousing -3 Banneret if I'm not mistaken +4 1/1 dude +3 claws +4 flashfreeze. Seems like too much cuz bannerets arent exactly bad.

"

I don't think so, but then I'd like unsummons somewhere to deal with a big crusher.

"by center425 on 2008-04-11 01:10 MDT

Yeah, and 2 faerie conclaves (and 4th dousing) ;)

But I was paired vs him last round...

by Eldariel on 2008-04-11 10:34 MDT

Why didn't you fools tell me before? Now I had to repost the decks and rebuild androide's tournament... Why always me :(

by ChristPunchr on 2008-04-11 10:43 MDT

Because you love massive mongoloid tits, Eld...sigh.

Wtf@assassins...tech alert.

by Perry on 2008-04-11 15:34 MDT

does assassin kill anything besides lord of atlantis and banerrett?

by Ironicus on 2008-04-11 15:55 MDT

PV is my favorite .br

by PV on 2008-04-11 15:56 MDT

it kills everything that is NOT lord of atlantis =/

by Bane8519 on 2008-04-11 19:05 MDT

No Mana Ramp? Sulfurous Blast and Pyroclasm are better than ever before.

by gypsy on 2008-04-11 20:04 MDT

ramp is slow and you can gain tempo with counters on their relevant spells

by BusDriver on 2008-04-14 07:38 MDT

Molten disaster really does seem like a disaster tho. Sulfurous blast and pyroclasm a bit less.
Those merfos just work really well against any deck with alot of big spells.
