Eldariel on 2008-04-06 13:47 MDT That Threshold-list shows me off; it doesn't play Countertop nor Stifle/Waste combo. Seems like it's somewhat outdated.
by MaksymG on 2008-04-06 14:01 MDT funny how a deck with 4 leylines main finishes 3rd while two thresh decks finish 1st and 2nd by sandoiche on 2008-04-06 14:04 MDT I think bob talks by itself - its worth the splash.
by Lynolf on 2008-04-06 14:06 MDT You hate legacy and still can win trials. O_O
by natethetank on 2008-04-06 14:13 MDT my deck needed engineered explosives, counterspell sucked monkeyballs, engineered plague is too narrow and i wish they printed a black disenchant. if sandoiche didnt have basics he would not have beaten me. by Eldariel on 2008-04-06 15:04 MDT Well, duh nate, which Thresh-deck DOESN'T have basics?
by natethetank on 2008-04-06 15:08 MDT he said he cut wastelands for basics and more fetches. had he not he would not have basics to play through back to basics. by natethetank on 2008-04-06 15:11 MDT also his ability to find basics would be lessened because he would have less fetches. by sandoiche on 2008-04-06 15:13 MDT yes, having 2 basics made total difference, also the 2 extra fetches. this original decklist had the wasteland, u can check it older version in some other trial, which was a 100% netdeck from a legacy article in Ligamagic.com...
by Eldariel on 2008-04-06 16:07 MDT Yea, UGw with Wastes is rather weak, UGr Tempo Thresh is much better, especially against control. And generally people who don't play basics simply misbuild their decks. by natethetank on 2008-04-06 16:57 MDT he won a trial eldariel, maybe there is something to his deck. maybe just maybe his deck is just as good as ugr thresh. oh and btw there is no way i would have gotten past round one without maindeck leylines and dark confidants so black is needed and i have enough basics of both that back to basics will never affect me. by Eldariel on 2008-04-06 17:09 MDT The deck has been tested in that incarnation; it's good, nobody is denying that, what I'm saying is that it's suboptimal for Threshold. There's been a lot more testing put to this than just ML Trials. by sandoiche on 2008-04-06 17:28 MDT the ugw list can do pretty well against controls decks too, i beat barely only control decks today... and the R list has advantage against goblins mainly, while the w list is better against anything playing tarmogoyf, and also can kill psichatog, genesis, ichorid, mystic enforcer, tombstalker, etc, which red burn removal cant... so its a question of preferences by Lenin on 2008-04-06 17:30 MDT nate, you are the worse kind of player and you know it.
by natethetank on 2008-04-06 17:45 MDT lenin time was called on my turn and your life total was lower. you are the one who lied to judges about when time was called about what i did and what i said. you would have won that game if given a little more time but you didnt, im not a bad player because i wouldnt concede to a liar. by Eldariel on 2008-04-06 18:00 MDT Sandoiche: There's a lot more to the difference than that. UGr Thrash is a tempo threshold build that often kills with burn while stealing turns.
by Lenin on 2008-04-06 19:37 MDT I wans't lying to the judge I told I'm sure you were stalling. Why? well maybe because you were lurking in the channel, buissy typing !time while having 1 card in hand and no real options. Its obvious you got a special treatment.
by natethetank on 2008-04-06 21:24 MDT you told the judge that time hadnt been called and i said end my turn. you also told the judge that you had attacked with your goyfs for the win and that i would be dead when active players finished the turn. you knew full well it was my turn when time was called. sounds like lieing to me. getting the correct ruling because the LOGS proved what i said was true is not special treatment. by gypsy on 2008-04-07 00:16 MDT callin people on slow play/stalling doesnt ever do anything when u tell a judge after a match is over so dont complain that he was stalling and you didnt call it right away. if time was called during his turn and you lied to a judge then you should be dqued from a tournament by georgjorge on 2008-04-07 04:33 MDT That 3rd place deck puzzles me...4 Leyline maindeck ? Threads over Shackles ?
by aldaryn on 2008-04-07 07:58 MDT by Eldariel on 2008-04-06 15:04 MDT
by ZeKo on 2008-04-07 12:10 MDT you must fit a blue basic to cast your cantrips and a green one to cast your Krosan grip... by Eldariel on 2008-04-07 13:04 MDT aldaryn: Alright, I'll give Thrash to you, but that's because it's confident it can keep opponents off B2B/Blood Moon-mana. by natethetank on 2008-04-07 14:30 MDT by georgjorge on 2008-04-07 06:33 EDT
by aldaryn on 2008-04-07 14:37 MDT nate: tombstalker, maybe? by natethetank on 2008-04-07 14:41 MDT thats interesting. i will test it but right now im thinking about playing a more fish like deck wiht spellstutter sprites and cliques. im even considering bitterblossum. |
