by
thedarkness on 2007-12-31 22:23 MDT WIN! by Craze on 2007-12-31 22:29 MDT 2nd and booo to combo decks by Teh_Blues on 2007-12-31 22:36 MDT 3rd dam.
by TwoTrees on 2007-12-31 22:55 MDT Gobos suck.
by _S3BAS_ on 2007-12-31 23:31 MDT Gobos Suck's
by TwoTrees on 2007-12-31 23:36 MDT I have to say, chimera was the best deck. Wake was second though, no other combo was too good. by Sorrel on 2008-01-01 00:23 MDT I don't entirely understand how chimera *works*. by thedarkness on 2008-01-01 00:42 MDT Ashnod's Altar + Saproling Cluster + Fecundity + 3 cards in hand = 35~ mana + 7-8 cards left in your deck = Heart of Ramos + Blaze for 30~
by Daveslusher- on 2008-01-01 01:18 MDT Wake was the correct deck to play today. It's still the best control deck ever invented. by Krejcik on 2008-01-01 03:59 MDT meh i tested against Wake and beat it. RL pulled out of the Trial. Pox 4 Life :P
by Holzi on 2008-01-01 04:55 MDT Most of the decks arent legal lol...
by on 2008-01-01 05:17 MDT isnt the name for the 1st deck cluster bomb by Mirror_Image on 2008-01-01 05:59 MDT Oh well, congrats thedarkness... because of my stupid play you could won the Trial, so thanks ME for the dumbness =P
by Eldariel on 2008-01-01 06:39 MDT Meh. Wake is good, but not nearly the be-all, end-all. There were no good Goblin-builds around, which certainly affected things (all the played versions were either modern crap or Onslaught/Urza/10th, neither of which gets access to Ringleader - the true workhorse - and they didn't have SB enchantment removal either).
by ykpon on 2008-01-01 06:45 MDT gj thedarkness, nice deck by on 2008-01-01 06:52 MDT this format is really weird and deck design/card choices and which blocks to play really affect the game more than anything else, and u do realise ppl that thedarkness just ran tiagos deck from the invitational by Eldariel on 2008-01-01 07:05 MDT Deck breakdown:
by mp26 on 2008-01-01 08:37 MDT so you pick two sets next to each other along with any numbered editon? by Krejcik on 2008-01-01 09:04 MDT REALLY surprized people didn't utilize 5thfor Pox or Geddon or even Mirridion for major control pieces Trinis or Crucible or Chalice.
by Burton911 on 2008-01-01 09:49 MDT lol
by Ownj00 on 2008-01-01 10:00 MDT burton911:
by Pit42 on 2008-01-01 10:30 MDT rofl, I played the 3-1 LOR/TSP/10th Goblins and lost against thedarkness =/..
by Wrecked on 2008-01-01 10:44 MDT I played the TSP/Inv/10th fires, beat Wake game 1 then took him to like 4 both game 2 and 3, but he somehow regained it. Grats, at least I lost to someone in t3. by Daveslusher- on 2008-01-01 10:54 MDT lol
by Burton911 on 2008-01-01 12:14 MDT "burton911:
by HolieCows on 2008-01-01 13:38 MDT I just punted games 2 and 3 after winning game 1 against the darkness, win on the board both games just terrible.
by TwoTrees on 2008-01-01 13:58 MDT Yeah Wrecked, other than game 3 of my tog matchup yours was surprisingly close considering wake should rape aggro. by Wrecked on 2008-01-01 14:37 MDT Actually, I think one of the last two games I had you at 1, but could never draw the Fanatic or Incinerate. Then again, I made the mistake of only swinging in with Goyf when you were at 4. by Krejcik on 2008-01-01 15:00 MDT anyone else also surprised that no one played Stasis? 5th Ed has so many things to base a deck on. Guess I'm old and stuck in the past though :/ by Eldariel on 2008-01-01 18:01 MDT Most of these decks are simply copies of the Invitationals-lists. That's why there isn't too much innovation yet. If this format became more common, then perhaps... Although I couldn't imagine why anyone would want to play Stasis online. Timelimit is quite the obstacle when your gameplan is to deck the opponent by skipping all your turns. by perep on 2008-01-01 20:23 MDT nice by TwoTrees on 2008-01-01 20:53 MDT Yeah i can feel that there has to be better decks. by aldaryn on 2008-01-02 02:27 MDT no one tried to build UGW gro/thresh? it seems like you could do IA/OD/10TH and play dryad, mongoose, werebear, brainstorm, fow, predict, mental note, swords to plowshares, counterspell, maybe jotun grunt...too bad divining top isn't in a core set... by Krejcik on 2008-01-02 03:44 MDT man I tested 4 decks that did well prior to this trial (i missed the trial)
by DH on 2008-01-02 09:04 MDT Someone played trix. Vs me, playing UW with Force, Counter-spell and -balance+Top, WW crits and sb Hokori.
by ChristPunchr on 2008-01-02 11:52 MDT "Stasis can work well here.Theirs cards in later sets to speed up your win condition. that and loads of creatures with vigilance."
by Krejcik on 2008-01-02 13:48 MDT i didn't mean aggro. i was thinking outloud about win conditions.
by ChristPunchr on 2008-01-02 19:58 MDT Just make a turbo stasis deck...
by NahHolmes on 2008-01-08 23:23 MDT Gush is banned in legacy thus banned in MYOS thus makes Stasis suck. I think the only thing that can make Stasis work at all is Root Maze + Stasis + Chronatog or sub Root Maze for the Mir Block artifact but that's too slow at 4. Either way I tried and couldn't make it good. Basically a deck needs good GY hate to beat Bridge which I think people understood seeing all those Bridge decks in R1 losses, then it needs something to disrupt Enchantments (since RecSur/SapBurst are the top 2 netdecks) basically aggro sucks if you didn't notice. If there was a control deck that beats Enchantment based Combo, Bridge, and other control it would be the boss, all it would have to do would be make it past R2 where all the Aggro dies to dominate. Note that Bridge SB hates splashes to RecSur hate. I think an Ice Age/Time Spiral and w/e edition control deck could be house. You get Force/CS with IA and Teferi/Crypt/all kinds of control with TS block, most likely a black or white splash, I think the ideal deck lies somewhere in there. by jdf121 on 2008-07-13 06:28 MDT Tooth and nail should run stuffy doll. If u cast trisk or doll then resolve a T&N its game. |
