My deck ran very well all tournament. My only regret is having wasted SB space on those mindcensors, since it seems nobody is playing Ideal now :P

I would recommend swapping them for the various mid range (rock) match ups, since it seems The Rock is the most popular archetype atm.

by Daveslusher- on 2007-12-15 16:06 MDT

#1 Is Scepter Boom = /

by therooster on 2007-12-15 16:10 MDT

And I like to call mine Doran Rock <3

by kendiggy on 2007-12-15 16:24 MDT

team #darkstar ftw!

Yeah, the name of the deck I played is Scepter Boom.

I guess now I'll have to find some tech for the mirror :(

by GFSS on 2007-12-15 16:30 MDT

go tuga go !

by DarkGoblin on 2007-12-15 16:41 MDT

Hey Kendiggy, ur deck have a good match up vs agro? good job on trial :p
i ask specially vs goblins and affinity

by ChristPunchr on 2007-12-15 16:44 MDT

Haha, that's a cool looking deck, Kendiggy!

You make it on your own?

The top three seem pretty creative. Therooster's deck is so not control though. lol

by Eldariel on 2007-12-15 16:54 MDT

I shoulda at least made it to Top 8, but I did a click error on the third round that ended up costing me the game and the match. I was playing Dwarf Belcher, the worst deck you'll ever see :P

// Lands
10 [MM] Mountain (1)
4 [GP] Steam Vents

// Creatures
4 [OD] Dwarven Recruiter
4 [AP] Bloodfire Dwarf
3 [ON] Dwarven Blastminer
4 [FUT] Storm Entity
4 [PLC] Simian Spirit Guide

// Spells
4 [CS] Rite of Flame
4 [TSP] Lotus Bloom
3 [TSP] Empty the Warrens
4 [JU] Burning Wish
4 [MR] Chrome Mox
4 [MR] Goblin Charbelcher
4 [9E] Seething Song

// Sideboard
SB: 1 [TSP] Empty the Warrens
SB: 1 [TSP] Grapeshot
SB: 2 [FUT] Magus of the Moon
SB: 1 [SC] Mind's Desire
SB: 2 [IA] Pyroclasm
SB: 3 [GP] Shattering Spree
SB: 4 [9E] Blood Moon
SB: 1 [MR] Fabricate

It actually worked surprisingly well. Sure, sometimes you'll have to combo out partially and sometimes you won't see any win conditions, but it's much like Legacy Belcher, just few turns slower and it does just fine in this format.

by kendiggy on 2007-12-15 16:54 MDT

The deck has a pretty good matchup vs. aggro. Most aggro decks don't have a main-deck answer to isochron scepter, so some sort of scepter lock is usually pretty good game one, unless you just straight up go off with act first. It's better to win that way game one, then scepter lock them game two, that way they don't know to bring in their grips or grudges. Every aggro match is the same, you just have to play it smart. If you play like a dumbass, you will lose. timing is essential when it comes to when to suspending gargadon. It's not always the right play to do it on turn one.

and no, I didn't make it on my own, I net-decked it and tweaked it to my own liking.

by rafaruggi on 2007-12-15 18:06 MDT

I got pwned by therooster at round 3, though i think my deck was doin' pretty well. GJ to the t4.

by marcelangelo on 2007-12-15 18:53 MDT

hahaha 8th place in PTQ newyork .. is now 1st place trials...

by kendiggy on 2007-12-15 18:56 MDT

The deck is really good. He must have just had a bad draw in the top 8 or something because I don't see how he couldnt' beat any of those decks that were in the top four. Game one would be tough, sure, but after board it seems to heavily favor him.

by marcelangelo on 2007-12-15 20:11 MDT

yeah! it could be... remember our game? i cant do anything against Scepter/chant...

by TylerTMK on 2007-12-15 20:14 MDT

ROFL @ Deck #1 and deck #2 :(

by aldaryn on 2007-12-15 21:10 MDT

rofl all you want, but both of those strategies have potential. i like bob in the flow update, but e.e. is really good too.

by natethetank on 2007-12-15 21:17 MDT

the rooster: you got so lucky vs me and you know that if they called time like four turns later there was no way you would have won that game. the highest life total rule is total bullshit and you have to figure out a way to change it.

by ChuckNorris on 2007-12-15 23:05 MDT

I'm confused by scepter boom.

by TugaChampion on 2007-12-16 04:17 MDT

I got unlucky in the final having not drawed devastating dreams early in any game. But I can't complain because luck was on my side during the rest of the tourney. I did some play mistakes but in this trial I played my first 6 matches with this deck lol.

I went:
2-0
2-0
2-0
2-0
2-1
1-2

First 4 rounds were really easy because the deck can has some really good starts. In the semi-finals and in the final I never got those draws. Actually the semi finals was pretty stupid. G1 therooster mulled to 5 and I just played creatures and attacked. G2 and G3 we were stalled but he had more and better creature in G2 and I did in G3.

Gratz to the top4.

by Apocalypser on 2007-12-16 04:37 MDT

Alexandrino, faz-me um filho.

by PolarBearGod on 2007-12-16 05:50 MDT

RGB Flow should be labeled JustUsGoyfs. That was the name given to it from the creator.

by TugaChampion on 2007-12-16 07:00 MDT

Apocalypser, é pra já!

PolarBearGod, who is the creator?

by on 2007-12-16 07:06 MDT

andre coimbra and steve sadin

by TugaChampion on 2007-12-16 11:35 MDT

Lennin: I knew Andre Coimbra had made the deck although I didn't know about Sadin being involved in it too. I saw Coimbra's list in his blog and took out 4 Explosives and put in 4 Dark Confidant. I think the explosives main was because of the large number of zoo and boros decks in Valencia. I was just checking if PBG knew the creators.

They are AMAZING vs Gifts Rock.

by therooster on 2007-12-16 15:54 MDT

Hmm forgot about that ;) Though I didnt end up facing gifts rock either this time around.

by Daveslusher- on 2007-12-16 16:35 MDT

...they're also amazing vs fetches.

by center425 on 2007-12-17 00:07 MDT

@eldariel
Why don't you run any fetchs? Just b/c of Belcher?

by RiQuS|P on 2007-12-17 05:57 MDT

by TylerTMK on 2007-12-16 04:14 CET

ROFL @ Deck #1 and deck #2 :(

deck #2 is the list Coimbra's advises for PTQ season :p

also, his new version is:
-4 terminate +4 thoughtseize
SB: -4 smother +4 terminate

(from his article @ SCG.com)

by Linkman on 2007-12-17 09:59 MDT

Polarbeargod: We don't care. It's RBG Flow. Just by adding Goyf you don't change the deck name.

by TugaChampion on 2007-12-17 10:09 MDT

BabelFish: but the usual flow decks were pretty different from this one. They didn't include Terravore nor Devastating Dreams and not all versions included Chrome Mox.
BTS was also and inclusion by Coimbra and Sadin. Mogg Fanatic and Tarmogoyf are new additions from the last extended season. Tarmogoyf is an obvious one (what deck doesn't play it? lol) but Fanatic isn't obvious.

by Linkman on 2007-12-17 12:46 MDT

Well, they used to run werebear, but now that spell snare is running rampant, I see the obvious change.

by Eldariel on 2007-12-17 12:50 MDT

center425: Just because of Belcher.

by on 2007-12-17 13:46 MDT

flow never ran werebear, and snare isnt exactly running rampant

by Linkman on 2007-12-18 06:06 MDT

Flow did run werebear. I've played against it often on PTQ's, a devastating dreams for 3, causing him to gain treshold at the same time his bear grow out of lethal range.

Spell Snare isn't running rampant right now, or so it seems. It is however the card that counters 60% of the important spells, and always has a target. For a single mana.

by on 2007-12-18 06:56 MDT

that wasnt flow that was aggro loam very different decks except now that flow deck is kina a hybrid of both

by Shooter on 2007-12-18 07:36 MDT

no,flow is flow.this is a bad hybrid made by acoimbra

by pG on 2007-12-18 11:05 MDT

ROFL @ Deck #1 and deck #2 :(

Lol...

no,flow is flow.this is a bad hybrid made by acoimbra

LOL

by Lantero on 2007-12-18 17:43 MDT

Like the Doran rock. Only i think Armadillo Cloack is not good. The deck plays well vs aggro, dont need them. Maybe 2 or 3 copies of Umezawa's Jitte. ¿Thoughtseize>>>>Duress?
