by psu42 on 2007-09-13 08:11 MDT

thanks god every can finally see what a top4 without all fish looks like, real decks are out there...sadly i always miss the vintage trials...sad to see no
gat either

by LONE_GUNMAN on 2007-09-13 10:19 MDT

thats the worst build of affinity i have ever seen...i bet extended affinity would tear that apart.

by LONE_GUNMAN on 2007-09-13 10:20 MDT

by on 2007-09-13 10:40 MDT

no flash or gat wtf ppl wats wrong with u

by SaTiVa on 2007-09-13 11:43 MDT

i know nothing of vintage but dread mask just tries to sneak in a dread face down and then win with the 12/12 trample?

spot removal doesn't exist in vintage?

by pwnz on 2007-09-13 13:27 MDT

My deck isn't called MaskNaught. It is called Deez Noughts.

by cheesypirate on 2007-09-13 13:45 MDT

Why does the Stax list play Shivan Reef?

by Eldariel on 2007-09-13 13:58 MDT

Lol... So yea, we've got Vintage trial and no Gro, Flash or Ichorid? The only present Vintage-deck here is Stax and even that's a metagame deck.

by cjthedude on 2007-09-13 14:37 MDT

o shit 1st and 2nd come from #fightclub

by Daveslusher- on 2007-09-13 14:42 MDT

I should of beat pwnz. But i was running a 100 fever during the match so i screwed up like 200000 times.
Also, all stax decks knocked out flash/gat decks thus why none are in top8.
also, the stax list runs shivan reef so if doesn't have to take damage every time it taps for an artifacts unlike cutty of brass

by Eldariel on 2007-09-13 14:51 MDT

Stax beating all other good decks is no excuse for Masknought winning >_>

by LONE_GUNMAN on 2007-09-13 15:08 MDT

does no one agree the this affinity list sux?

by cheesypirate on 2007-09-13 15:52 MDT

yea, the affinity deck sux

good call

by JDude on 2007-09-13 16:20 MDT

Gag

The affinity list sucks, gilded claw is awful, and maknaught is just disgustingly bad. Fish is excusable but doesn't seem good with the absolutely random metagame around here.

And no, spot removal really doesn't exist in T1

by on 2007-09-13 16:25 MDT

thats not even stax or even staxless stax its like a weird version of slaver with welders and juggernauts, like agrro slaver mayb? i dont see how it beats flash or gro

by Tewl on 2007-09-13 18:08 MDT

I love how a lot of people who know nothing about Vintage flame the top 4...Not saying this is an awesome top 4, but i don't think some of these people even understand how some of the decks/mu's playout/work.

Btw, idk how good affinity actually is in vintage...but it is like 100x better than the extended version. Skullclamp is the nuts and you draw like half your deck between recall/thoughtcast/clamp on like turn 2 or 3. There are a lot of hosers that's why it probably shouldn't have gotten as far as it did but it got a little lucky.

by on 2007-09-13 18:14 MDT

i know wat decks are good in vinatge and how the matchup plays out

He netdecked me and I play reef over volcanic because of sundering titan.

by ChristPunchr on 2007-09-13 23:28 MDT

The "stax" deck is called aggro brown and it is from source or manadrain...at least a very similar deck. "DEEZ NOUGHTS" is another sort of tier 2.5 deck that can sneak up and pwn. If you are ready for it, no prob, if you aren't(like the majority of top decks in this event?)...well you see. I don't play much t1, but I have spent a bit of time reading shit on source and MD. Grats to the guys that placed with obscurish decks!

by kittykat on 2007-09-14 12:33 MDT

haha <--- got lucky other opp got mana screwed and all kinds of other bad things :P and my deck usually just went off every game except for finals

by kittykat on 2007-09-14 12:34 MDT

affinity isnt that bad really its alot better than you think it is :P and i faced GAT stax and fish in this tourney and beat them all :P

by dennooze on 2007-09-18 02:02 MDT

The affinity deck is real good. Especially with the skullclamp. If i'm not mistaken it used to be restricted ?

Anyway the Naught deck was good, a good combo with illusionary mask. I didn't even know such a gey card exist.....
