KeySam on 2007-07-15 11:50 EDT I was second, why i am only top 3 :( but nice deck MH ;) by Ironicus on 2007-07-15 12:06 EDT Congrats all! But I dfon't like this sliver list..
by FiReBLT on 2007-07-15 12:46 EDT Does the MBA deck use graven cairns to bluff spells?
by KeySam on 2007-07-15 12:50 EDT its for the shadow guildmage, they may give you the edge vs mra, they kill a bunch of their creatures... by Stryfe- on 2007-07-15 12:53 EDT seeing this top 3 i wish i stayed in by MH on 2007-07-15 15:01 EDT I really don't know why this Sliver Deck made Top 3! Can someone tell me why one should play this list? I mean how does it beat GW except with Telekinetic Sliver which is often too slow in game 1. They have trouble with simple beatdown, flying creatures and Stonewood Invokation, which in my opinion should be played in every GW. After board they have to face Sunlance as well. It is unquestionable that they can't really race me. I played against a deck like this in the semis and I won 2:1 just because he played 3 Fortune Thief in game 2. I was always able to deal 20 damage. Can someone please explain the idea of the deck to me except poison? by Shivan1 on 2007-07-15 15:06 EDT Slivers deck owns... it's so fast by sc4rs on 2007-07-15 17:35 EDT Look on magicthegathering.com, it was in one of the articles this week. I prefer Wild Pair Slivers because you have bigger turns, but this deck basically takes the Dormant Sliver plan from Wild Pair and builds on that, with a much better agro plan. by Eldariel on 2007-07-15 17:54 EDT Basically, the deck abuses the format's lack of 1-drops in 'normal' decks and plays Virulent Slivers. The god-draw kills turn 3, but that requires double-Virulent draw with no blockers (turn 1 1-drop, turn 2 2 more 1-drops, swing for 2 poison, turn 3 firewake, swing for 8 poison, gg). Still, the deck can be pretty insane. Of course, with 3-4 Virulents, it becomes much easier to pull that off, even through blockers. Turn 1 Virulent into turn 2 double Virulent is EWW. I'd still rather just play mono-blue since it abuses turn 1 better, but its kill is turn 4, so meh :/ It's a trade-off, but I think blue gains since it has enough removal to give Slivers fits. by Duodax on 2007-07-15 18:10 EDT Why Graven Cairns in MBA???
by KeySam on 2007-07-15 20:17 EDT @ DUodax read what i posted above, and i can tell you i played this deck now some time and i had 1 time double graven without any swamp i could callculate the chances but its very low... |
