Pekken on 2007-07-06 05:58 MDT So, what's with this bg discard gaining popularity all of a sudden? by KrovikanMist on 2007-07-06 07:01 MDT I guess people copied it from last torney's 3rd place deck. Now everyones gonna run it by Ro on 2007-07-06 07:08 MDT go leonin! :D
by toguppy on 2007-07-06 07:12 MDT its got goyf in it :D by Sam_T on 2007-07-06 09:05 MDT :/ Its not gaining popularity, I am the only one playing it. by Spyx on 2007-07-06 09:56 MDT finally a gruul list without the overhyped tarmogoyf by Sam_T on 2007-07-06 10:01 MDT oh, nvm I see shooter palyed it too. by sandoiche on 2007-07-06 10:14 MDT so did I playing shooter's list
by leonin5 on 2007-07-06 10:37 MDT 2 Skeletal Vampire
by HUNGTACTICS2 on 2007-07-06 10:45 MDT HUNGTACTICS CARRY!! by DESTRUCTOR on 2007-07-06 11:20 MDT Bg discard seems good but it needs something to have a betther matchup against gruul/zoo/monored by sui_slush on 2007-07-06 12:14 MDT by Spyx on 2007-07-06 10:56 CDT
by Daveslusher- on 2007-07-06 12:20 MDT That's why i dont like TarmoRack it has a very shaky aggro matchup. If your going to nationals, YOU.MUST.BEAT.GRUUL by Shivan1 on 2007-07-06 12:27 MDT Shaky aggro matchup? I don't see how the discard lost to that gruul list - tarmogoyf should dominate and after board you have 4 deathmarks and another putrefy. No excuses. by ChuckNorris on 2007-07-06 12:34 MDT Aggro is actually the deck's very best matchup. by nasa on 2007-07-06 13:40 MDT wow
by aldaryn on 2007-07-06 15:27 MDT if you're going to nationals, i'd expect more mono red than gruul. don't forget that kird ape is gone soon, and so is circle of protection: red, and mogg fanatic/incinerate are back. i'd definitely say mono red is the aggro deck of choice, although g/w glare or goyf might show up with rule of law in and seething song out. by Shooter on 2007-07-06 15:31 MDT I lost to 3char.dec,go me =[ by Eldar on 2007-07-06 21:38 MDT Actually b/g goyfrack was a deck created for the pittsburgh regionals that was very prominent and top 8ed a lot there and was later posted on starcity by Nick Eisel who was one of the ones playing it out of about 10 I would say so it originated way before it placed third in the last tourny. by SkaTista on 2007-07-06 22:22 MDT Congratis Shooter, \o/
by ChuckNorris on 2007-07-07 02:37 MDT I was the creator of said Pittsburgh deck. I came in 9th with it. Eisel did not run it, he audibled to dredge the night before for some reason and went 4-2. Chris Ripple (guy who qualified with it) ran my list, as did Chris Hartman (who ripple beat in the top 8). My friend running the deck came in 10th with it, and another friend finished in prizes with the deck. 40 percent of the top 10 was my BG rack build, and it is now basically the best deck in the format.
by rDMKZVrX on 2007-07-07 08:08 MDT best deck if you dont play againist aggro. by KrovikanMist on 2007-07-07 11:04 MDT u mean bg discard is best against all nonaggro decks?
by ChuckNorris on 2007-07-07 11:31 MDT BG destroys aggro. Its worst matchup is Dralnu. by TybudX on 2007-07-07 12:14 MDT Sure, you can replace Tarmogoyf with Nihilith... it's called MBC. by Rahxephon on 2007-07-07 12:24 MDT BG discard has an easy matchup vs agroo (means gruul), if u are not able to defeat gruul with this deck, maybe u should learn to play magic. Besides, this deck can win even without sided anything, it has enough cards to make the gruul matchup difficult enough, smallpox, the rack, funeral, tarmogoyf (difficult to pass through it), putrefy and augur. by BusDriver on 2007-07-07 12:35 MDT why not run a tombstalker or 2 in the BG disc decks? by BusDriver on 2007-07-07 12:36 MDT and maybe treetop village by pwnz on 2007-07-07 14:20 MDT Tombstalker is tech in aggro mu's...
by _SM0KE_ on 2007-07-07 14:36 MDT tombstalker causes goyf to grow
by BusDriver on 2007-07-07 15:26 MDT If u use 2, the dmg possibility from confidant is rather low. It's the same as hit-run, which was also played. And vs control/combo u don't even need to care so much, vs aggro tombstalker is a house.
by TNT_69 on 2007-07-07 16:09 MDT @smoke
by Alpha_n1 on 2007-07-08 11:17 MDT tombstalker + confidant = sinergy
by toothnail on 2007-07-10 15:49 MDT where does hypnotice specter fit in in this deck? |
