by devilzone on 2007-06-06 05:20 MDT congrats cj .... by Eldariel on 2007-06-06 05:46 MDT Well, I'll be, GW Aggro actually doing well. Congrats. Avoiding Dragonstorm FTW? 'cause it looks to me like you're pretty boned in that MU, save for the games stolen with Krosan Grip on Lotus Bloom when they're manalight. by Brodie on 2007-06-06 06:04 MDT lol@ 1 illegal deck
by RichardDWade on 2007-06-06 06:23 MDT Can someone explain 1 boreal druid?? by BombermanxD on 2007-06-06 06:26 MDT lol by bgalb on 2007-06-06 07:15 MDT by RichardDWade on 2007-06-06 07:23 CDT
by TugaChampion on 2007-06-06 07:16 MDT GO mehhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by seb_ on 2007-06-06 07:27 MDT Its onedrop #9
by Daveslusher- on 2007-06-06 08:12 MDT wow.....what an odd string of trials.
by uberman on 2007-06-06 08:13 MDT Credit to the 1st place deck for simultaneously abusing canopy, stonewood, and griffin guide, and having a solid SB. Don't expect another 1st from it though,if this deck gets popular people will quickly remember that this format has 2 wraths and plenty of pyroclasm esque cards. by DESTRUCTOR on 2007-06-06 08:31 MDT GW should use worship at least on sb to have something to do against DS because it looks like that's an awfull Matchup for you
by Eldariel on 2007-06-06 09:21 MDT Pyroclasm doesn't frighten a deck with half of the creatures clocking at 3/3 or higher and one being able to save another when it dies. Wrath ain't very effective either due to Griffin Guide, Giant Solifuge and Saffi. All in all, the deck is positioned to absolutely destroy any control and has a nice-looking aggro MU with lots of creatures (no wasted slots on burn) and the Big Hierc (along with Saffi, who allows for lots of very profittable trades). The only real dent in its formidable armor is the same as all WG decks, combo. by uberman on 2007-06-06 09:50 MDT I'm not saying it folds to wrath, I am just predicting that it won't hit number 1 again. Even with that SB... I still see DS and dredge overcoming it. Dralnu doesn't have a prayer against it and there were 12, thats why it won. by str8 on 2007-06-06 10:43 MDT GZ to cj and our sexy team. by sc4rs on 2007-06-06 11:19 MDT @ Uberman and everyone that says Dralnu doesn't have a prayer against GW or other agro - I did beat it G1 before losing twice. Granted, it's a hard matchup, but its not entirely unwinnable. As long as you know they're playing Stonewood Invocation (which cost me game 2 because I played Repeal on his turn instead of my own) and play around it correctly, it's a winnable matchup, just like Gruul (which I beat round 2).
by Duodax on 2007-06-06 11:45 MDT Just play Aven Mincensor in Sideboard vs Dragonstorm by therooster on 2007-06-06 12:17 MDT I imagine with a little tinkering, the GW sideboard could be much better suited for the meta of Dstorm and Gruul...
by Rath on 2007-06-06 12:31 MDT I know pretty much all Dralnu decks are running Sieze the soul as a silver bullet to tutor for, but is running Slaughter Pact over it any good? It seems to be just as good against gruul, and it deals with Hierarch, Lightning Angel, and any random white creature that sieze cannot touch... by Volrath89 on 2007-06-06 13:08 MDT "by sc4rs on 2007-06-06 13:19 EDT
by Ffancrzy on 2007-06-06 13:22 MDT I played Cj first round w/ Glittering Wish Control. Absolutly Raped Him (Persecute on green) Game 2 he wins with Griffin Guide...Game 3 He wins with a Griffin Guide again but he way over extended when he didnt need to and Had I drawn a Black mana in 5 turns...the results would be very different...
by kby on 2007-06-06 13:40 MDT Look at everyone stealing my tech(worship) :) by mikeyk159 on 2007-06-06 14:15 MDT wow, im glad to see G/W gettining some progress done, how it beat u/b control though!, im not even going to begin to ask by ringman on 2007-06-06 14:47 MDT go meeeehhhhhh!!! by onecleanceli on 2007-06-06 14:58 MDT since when is worship 'tech'? it used to be played all the time, then people stopped using it for some reason... its really solid, period by pnk on 2007-06-06 15:20 MDT mehhhh gj, nice deck...ofc dredge deck requires a good player and mehhhh is one of the best pt players around...nice one! by TugaChampion on 2007-06-06 15:26 MDT lol! well done mehhhhh but let me tell u. I know him and he is a lucksacker! At least in real life he always dredges the nuts!
by Brodie on 2007-06-06 16:40 MDT And I don't know how related it is to some of the comments being said recently, but excluding the actual game of Magic itself, it's really great to see everyone talking strat, comparing tech and giving tons of kudos to one another instead of the usual "Player X sucks. How the hell did they get Deck Y in the top 4? Jank Jank Jank, etc."
by Vedrfolner on 2007-06-06 17:22 MDT The GW deck wins because it runs Call of the Herd, Loxodon Hierarch, Saffi, Giant Solifuge, Stonewood Invocation and Griffin Guide. All of them are cards that in some way either gives or is as good as card advantage (hierarch b/c of size). The beats this deck produce is fast and hard to stop. Apart from Jotun Grunt, the sideboard is quite good.
by sc4rs on 2007-06-06 17:48 MDT "wow, im glad to see G/W gettining some progress done, how it beat u/b control though!, im not even going to begin to ask"
by pwnz on 2007-06-06 18:29 MDT Nice win CJ :)
by DESTRUCTOR on 2007-06-06 19:27 MDT by Brodie on 2007-06-06 18:40 EDT
by oceanboyjm on 2007-06-06 20:00 MDT well im glad mehhhhhhhh came in top 4 because he beat me 2nd round...good job
by Dodgethis on 2007-06-06 22:54 MDT How does the GW deck beat project X or martyr variations? Other than that it looks really solid. by Tidus- on 2007-06-07 04:01 MDT Crypts are hate for both decks mentioned i believe by DESTRUCTOR on 2007-06-07 06:05 MDT i think that serrated arrows or sunlance should be included on GW's SB because thyey need something to kill creatures like fortune thief by Lantero on 2007-06-17 16:16 MDT Worship good vs Dragonstorm??? 4 hellkite kills all your creatures easily and kill u next turn
by DESTRUCTOR on 2007-06-27 08:29 MDT if they kill all your dudes with hellkite you jusr drop a guy in your next turn and that's about it |
