First!

How about sideboarding or even maindecking Hour of Reckoning to deal with SSS, especially in the token deck?

by animefan8714 on 2006-06-05 17:49 MDT

I think the critical mass decks should play plaxmanta... it seems really good in this format full of targeted removal.
Second!

by Taoofss on 2006-06-05 17:55 MDT

the 2nd and third place decks are the same card for card excpet for the opposite karoo. hmmm where you guys netdeck this? not that there's anything wrong with netdecking.

by Streakz on 2006-06-05 17:56 MDT

Obv my list rapes the world.

by SteveOB on 2006-06-05 18:02 MDT

lol he netdecked my list from friday and I decided cytoshape was poopy so I cut it for beam and my mana was wrong so I added turf over simic land

by ChristPunchr on 2006-06-05 18:03 MDT

Haha, critical mass has been handed the same fate as the rock. Anything that is blue and green is called "critical mass" now.

Awesome.

Anyway, this format is looking pretty sweet, wide open and allows for alot of creativity and diverse answers will be needed.

Biggups to Morlock, grats.

by Streakz on 2006-06-05 18:52 MDT

Wheres my big ups Christ? I built that deck...

by Ownj00 on 2006-06-05 18:52 MDT

i was x-0 with my token deck again but dropped to grab some food. hydropon and overwhelm are, to quote steve, "poopy" by the way.

by MaksymG on 2006-06-05 20:11 MDT

why is there a rolling spoil in the first place deck??? and what happens if someone plays seek against u 4 times for ur sky swallower? ok that one was jokes but still why is rolling spoil in there? if u really wanted land destruction u definatly want wreak havos as it cant be countered just saw the wreak havos in sidebaord, now onto the better question, why is there land destruction in the first place deck of rav block????

by Ownj00 on 2006-06-05 20:38 MDT

wreak havok being uncounterable means absolutely nothing compared to spoils ability to take out tokens and bob and etc etc etc.

also, this format has lots of decks with small creatures / lots of decks with high mana curves. hmmm, land demo with board sweeping ability, yeah, seems bad.

you should join the next trial and wow us M4ks

by Yourmom on 2006-06-05 20:38 MDT

big-ups to steve-o.

10th!OMGOMGOMG

by crew on 2006-06-05 20:40 MDT

nice work streakz!

by Precinct on 2006-06-05 22:34 MDT

Did I not tell void that SSSc would win? God, I am good.

by Streakz on 2006-06-05 23:16 MDT

Now I get the responsibility of building a deck that beats all 3 of the top4 decks. This will be fun.

Also, in one of my matchups, I 6 for 1ed one of the token decks with Rolling Spoil, so ya, the card is really, really good.

by ShaunD on 2006-06-05 23:26 MDT

why would you do that streaks? all 4 decks to really bad. Hopefully i'll get to play vs. decks like these in Charleston.
-ShaunD

by Lunarvoltage on 2006-06-06 00:43 MDT

ShaunD if you think those decks are bad, you are bad.

by synch987 on 2006-06-06 01:09 MDT

michael jackson's bad

by Void06 on 2006-06-06 01:33 MDT

Thanks precinct <3

by ChristPunchr on 2006-06-06 02:44 MDT

To be honest, I haven't been paying close attention to the exact ingredients of the decks, only their general ideas. Definetly a nifty deck, Streakz.

Mor still gets biggups because he piloted the deck to a good finish though...your ups are simply bigger. I think I'll have to start messing around with RBC decks now, cook something up...

by KaleGozer on 2006-06-06 04:13 MDT

Maybe it's just me, but why is the SkyGuy deck running 18 duals? :-). Where is the Utopia Sprawl? Utopia Sprawl/Savage Twister/SSS = Best Friends in Block :)

by xerocat on 2006-06-06 05:36 MDT

ShaunD, you meant the side events in Charleston :).

by Vimes on 2006-06-06 05:45 MDT

PV went 4-0. Why isn't his deck up here?

by onecleanceli on 2006-06-06 12:31 MDT

congrats on the win, i 'netdecked' it to test it out and i do like it... the consult the necrosages i think could be replaced with more of a ultility card or something IMO, but other than that, i like the deck..... havent had to sideboard yet so dunno bout that part either

by center425 on 2006-06-06 13:31 MDT

I lost to Morlock i the thrid round. I was playing 4 Color Good Stuff of my own my making. I crushed him in the first. Next two he got SSS out. I had no answers.

Way to win it all Morlock!

by SteveOB on 2006-06-06 14:40 MDT

Rorlfofrolf sorry Im at the airport and just died when I read ShaunD's post Please let me play his team round 1...Shaun be in the B seat thnks :) and those cards are poopy..in the token deck..just look at the list on paper the whole thing looks like poopy

by Columbus on 2006-06-06 14:54 MDT

Killer deck, Morlock. SSS is a house.

Good job on 1st

by TylerTMK on 2006-06-06 15:31 MDT

I hope ShaunD plays the Milwaukee Brewers (me and SteveOB) round 1 in Charleston, it'll be real close I'm sure...

by s7 on 2006-06-06 17:31 MDT

The SSSc deck gets wrecked by Hit//Run =(

by Lackeos on 2006-06-06 22:55 MDT

"Where is the Utopia Sprawl?"
Where is some awful card?

"all 4 decks to really bad"
Yeah, good decks are bad decks. Grammar is overrated. Everything is backwards.

"The SSSc deck gets wrecked by Hit//Run =("
Like if you kill a creature with a removal spell, you 'wrecked' your opponent. Wrecked them so bad, it's almost like you cast Obliterate and Yawg's Will, replayed all of your moxes and Academy, Mind Twisted your opponent, and Stroke of Geniused yourself. Hit/Run literally wrecks them. One creature dead, scoop up ya cards.</sarcasm>

by dawnyoshi on 2006-06-07 03:01 MDT

Well...yeah. Killing a creature from a deck that has 4 creatures in it seems good. So does burning them for 7. :/

Not trying to diss the 1st place deck at all. I think it's solid. Just making a point that non-targeted removal is really good against it, and acting like it isn't is just silly. Granted, Hit//Run is a really bad example since it can be one of the most useless cards in the format (sack your token or random 1-2 cost dork FTW!).

by ChristPunchr on 2006-06-07 03:25 MDT

There will be better decks, the format is young.

by PV on 2006-06-07 11:40 MDT

I myself don't like those decks either...

Lackeos: Instead of trying to make fun, you should analyse stuff and see that he is actually quite correct. If you are playing that and I draw more hit/runs than you draw simic sky swallowers, you cannot absolutely win ever. If I'm careful with ribbons, 3 Hit/run will do it.

by ChristPunchr on 2006-06-07 15:53 MDT

It screws with the balance of the casting costs of the cards in the skyguy deck, but counterpells would probably work out as a strong addition.
