I'd like to add that I scooped to Toshi in the finals, but we played it out and I won 2-1. Thanks. Oh yea, and people should follow in my example and be nice guys when it comes to finals and one of you are already Q'ed.

by Kittens on 2006-05-10 21:43 MDT

im so sexy.

by Arch on 2006-05-10 21:46 MDT

Mana screw on game 1 :'(. Stainz ended up Blazing me for 13...I had a 2nd vore in hand at the last turn (5 land through the entire game), but was afraid of a counterspell...My bad play.

Then a damn confiscate on the vore sealed my fate in game 3.

by Streakz on 2006-05-10 21:57 MDT

Arch is actually nicer than he seems, and I am 99.9% sure we aren't enemies because of what happend. Although, everything he said is true and I did get lucky throughout the match.

by SOAD on 2006-05-10 21:59 MDT

I still cant realize why Izzetron is still doing tops. I like Vore, and this Husk is kinda quite balanced, the 8&H-T seem it would be a nice MD choice.

I would jsut like to say I made it to round 4 with ghazi good, losing to Toshi. The only reason this is funny, is because this trial was supposed to be sealed at first I threw together the deck last minute and had kodama of the center tree in instead of north tree. Was pretty funny casting 5 mana 1/1's that if i was really lucky might get up to 2/2.

Ghost Husk is likely the best deck in old T2. Hard to say what happens with the new set though.

DO IT ON LAN, STUPID WALLHACKER.

by Meatwarz on 2006-05-11 00:22 MDT

interesting ideas in Vore list:

2 Counsel of the Soratami and 4 Clasm + 4 Hammer - afraid of RG Match? ;)

by synch987 on 2006-05-11 03:19 MDT

freaky list arch

by den18 on 2006-05-11 05:47 MDT

yeah, definetly a weird list. The counsels I plain just don't understand since you already have 4 slight and 4 compulsive. Also the hammers in my opinion should be sideboard its better I think to have something thats good in both control and agrro like boomerang or mana leak. the flowstone slide is interesting, I assume its agains't paladin en vec, how did that work out? The exaustion and sowing salt also confuses me and why no threads? Giant solifuge would I think be just as good or better against control.

by TugaChampion on 2006-05-11 06:56 MDT

Ghost Husk is a good deck. Gratz Toshi.

by Niksodus on 2006-05-11 09:42 MDT

Why needle md? This isn't team standard.

by TugaChampion on 2006-05-11 10:03 MDT

I agree with Niksodus about needle. Jitte is a better MD option I think.

You seem pretty damn full of yourself.

by Streakz on 2006-05-11 14:09 MDT

bl w/e ur name is, I'm trying to set an example for people so that more people can be Q'ed for this Invitational and future ones. There are quite a few people who have been douchebags to me in the past so I am trying to get people to be kinder in the future.

by Itachi on 2006-05-11 14:30 MDT

i have a question not bashing but why are you playing Blaze over Invoke/Demonfire ???

by Arch on 2006-05-11 14:42 MDT

den18: Yes, the Flowstones are there for the dreaded Paladin en-Vec's. Interestingly, I only played against UR, the entire trial, so I didn't get to actually bust them out...

Yes, Boomerang and Mana Leak would definitely have helped, but I found the extra draws off the Counsels often saved me, in the weirdest situations. Remember, I'm not running Shivan Reefs (which I hate with a vengeance).

Sowing Salt is a no-brainer vs. Izzet-tron, which I faced 3 times. Exhaustion is a personal favourite, it almost always helped. Threads of Disloyalty I never really considered, preferring to just smash face...

Also, having Clasms and Hammers MD actually won me one game a match plus. Killing Keigas is tough for Vore, and that did it for me.

Finally, you will see that my build is significantly cheaper than even the thriftiest Vore build I have seen previously. Having no Shivan Reefs, Solifuges, etc. makes it easier for almost anyone to buy this in real life (I think it cuts about $40 total at my local store).

by Streakz on 2006-05-11 16:22 MDT

itachi, demonfire wasnt legal for the tourny and everytime i have invoke i always wish i had just a little more mana, and i never had a prob drawing cards the entire turny

by ChristPunchr on 2006-05-11 16:22 MDT

the vents are about $12, at the very least, a pop. 4x12=48
I bet blood moons would have been alot easier to resolve versus tron, especially considering the optimal draws that magnivore is famous for allow for them to have one or none mana after they take their second turn or whatever.

by Streakz on 2006-05-11 16:24 MDT

btw Arch u said its $40 yet u run steam vents, I wish I lived near ur store cuz id have every dual in about 5 minutes

by Arch on 2006-05-12 17:26 MDT

I know the Vents cost a lot, but cutting everything else is great. BTW, I just happened to be able to trade for some Vents, so I'm set :P
