by Yourmom on 2006-04-14 21:05 MDT

apc462 and vacancyman, great job on taking 1st and 2nd in this trial of 93 ppl with mono colored decks in a format that rewards multi-color deck building.
A+++++++++

by dragos_kai on 2006-04-14 23:38 MDT

actually I find the MBA interesting in it's own way, and just because something isn't "normal" doesn't mean it's not useful ... Warhammer is a decent equipment, so, if it can draw a win, go for it!

by PV on 2006-04-15 01:17 MDT

LOL!

by ChristPunchr on 2006-04-15 01:20 MDT

Sad thing is, I regularly annihilate a friend that is a very good player at FNM's, post sideboard, with my Ub fish deck.

The principle that allows me to own him is gasps, hands, nekrataals and my little-wee counters. One could easily argue that monoblack has more game because of more early discard, a rock solid mana base and more creature removal. They would be right [in my opinion] too.

Funny thing with my fish deck is that I always win with a confidant out...always. I guess the small compliment of counters keep me out of burn range and luck keeps me from being annihilated by bob when I run the poor bastid out of steam with about six life, or so, left over...I guess I should mention that ninja's, remands, mana leaks and bobs make it so I almost always win the jitte war. A far more solid mana base helps too =P.

F*ck zoo. Fad decks for the LOSE.

there were less than 30 in this "trial"

christpunchr, shut up, noone cares about your ub fish deck and how it "dominates the format" put up results, then brag

congrats to apoc for winning a supposedly "better player" tourney with that piece of garbage.

hopefully everyone will netdeck the 1 and 2 decks from this trial, easy wins are always fun

by Big on 2006-04-15 02:24 MDT

How did WW lose you should roll MBA. WTF is with the 3 plains in the sideboard run a sacred ground if your sacred of LD.

by synch987 on 2006-04-15 03:18 MDT

in a most trials popular decks win because more people play them, but in a small trial each uncommon deck type has a better chance of winning, so you get "crap" decks making top3

WW, i cant believe you dont have the greatest combat math card since ravager, shining shoal

by Shagrath on 2006-04-15 04:47 MDT

not enough Ghost Dad's in this trial..... Ghost dad turn this decks into "Random byes"

by Meatwarz on 2006-04-15 05:31 MDT

LOLOLO

Nice fun deck wins xD

by tato- on 2006-04-15 06:54 MDT

omfg what's this..lol...I played a toruney yesterday and top 4 was Enduring, Owling Mine, Ninjas (lol) and B-W Ghost Dad (Mine)...this decks are kinda good but...why is not ghost dad here!??

by Masterspeaks on 2006-04-15 09:12 MDT

i'm willing to bet top 2 of this trial lucked their way there with byes and coinflips. Make hamachi required so these people actually have to play more than 3 games to win a trial.

by VacancyMan on 2006-04-15 09:25 MDT

That almost hurts Masterspeaks. I can host, and do host at every chance I get. I had one bye. I beat Heartbeat, Magnivore and R/W Aggro. Please check the facts before you make accusations.

The Plains in the sideboard beat Magnivore, because Wildfire doesn't win them the game if I have lands in hand. Sacred Ground is an unacceptable tempo loss on turn 2 or 3. The Plains also come in with Hokori, because the maindeck isn't built to have 4 mana on turn 4.

by apc462 on 2006-04-15 10:03 MDT

for everyones info I beat 2 ghost dad builds round 2-3, thats why there was none in the top 3. the warhammer was just in there as a game finisher because of crainal, it was an ink eyes first but most people name ink eyes or jitte. plus it had a big surprise factor

by BlaznSpecter on 2006-04-15 10:23 MDT

blah blah blah..quit cryin about what won because u didnt play in it. i swear everyone here just crys about anything and everything its pathetic. good job guys

by Meldethar on 2006-04-15 10:52 MDT

I agree with BlaznSpecter...all you whiners need to stfu. These guys found rogue decks they like and that brought in successful results for them, and they played them. Just because they didn't play Gruul/Zoo/Any BW Build/'Vore/Tron doesn't mean that they can't win. Hell, my best friend kept Ghazi-Glare as his deck on past Honolulu up until the past couple weeks, and he made top 2 consistently despite all the Gruul, Zoo, and BW Aggro in our meta.

So get over the fact that your so-called Tier 1 decks didn't win. They're not god.

by Counterlife on 2006-04-15 11:06 MDT

Goes to show you how scrubs kiss the asses of the pros and netdeck like no tommorow. Most of these guys are auto byes and they wanna laugh at MBA(PV, not that damn funny) Going pro means you like magic enough to make it a huge part of your life. Some just dont. Dont judge a deck cause its made by an unknown, kids.

by BlaznSpecter on 2006-04-15 11:15 MDT

Good point counter.. Thing is most people on here are clowns because they think only certain decks should win and rouge isnt allowed. They believe they may actually get something out of all this. Did everyone forget its a free site. So u may qualify for and win a master and 80 bucks...whoopty freakin doo. This site is more towards sitting down playin a game people enjoy and to relax. If your gonna take it so serious go spend your money and play on some "other" site, and let the rest of us enjoy it. Im tired of seeing all the people run down a deck just because a) they didnt play in the trial or b) they lost to a random deck(then they claim "oh land screw, you were just lucky) then they sit and say someone sucks or just berates them with profanity in a chatroom or pm. (Real mature by the way losers). Thats my rant, Im out.

by Meldethar on 2006-04-15 11:20 MDT

Amen.

...hmm...Ramen...*goes to get some*

by Counterlife on 2006-04-15 13:50 MDT

@ Meldethar
I hate you. Now I gotta go down to the corner store and get some. Maruchan FTW!!!!

by Lackeos on 2006-04-15 23:54 MDT

PV: gay decks are gay
Meldethar: ramen is good
true statements

by PV on 2006-04-16 11:41 MDT

Thing is, this deck is bad, not because it is not a conventional build, but because it plays BAD cards when it could be playing BETTER ones. Cruel edict is simply worse than mortify and putrefy and there's no reason not to play any of them over it _at all_.

This deck is simply inferior to a black/white build in every single way I can think of it, it has NO advantages whatsoever.

It is not conventional because it is bad, and not the opposite.

by TugaChampion on 2006-04-16 14:26 MDT

+1700 trials were created to reward the best players!!! LOL I faced today the winner of this trial with his MBA with my W/B discard deck and I won 2-1 coz in the first game I got amazingly bad draws. He also got the loxodon warhammer in all games which that I thought he had more.
