GO JAPANESE HEARTBEAT!
- Bejeezus

by TugaChampion on 2006-04-11 04:11 MDT

lol the noobs trial!!!

by ringman on 2006-04-11 04:26 MDT

that version of heartbeat is really bad
you must have been really lucky to win this trial

by Kev on 2006-04-11 05:26 MDT

uhm, that version of Heartbeat is the only version that can go off turn 4 all the time if it wants to. ringman obviously NEVER EVER played the deck. fucking noob

by Meatwarz on 2006-04-11 06:42 MDT

Huh, now when there are so much slow BW aggros in the metagame, Heartbeat is the great deck choise i think.

Gratz roocker!

P.S.
All the whinig noobs like ringman - suck more.

by ringman on 2006-04-11 06:52 MDT

it can go off turn 4'
lol let me laugh exposing yourself like that to mortifys and counters like that seem a good idea to me, if u wanna lose of course. No boomerang or senseis seems real bad as he plays a ivory mask and you say gg and only 1 winning condition main that is discarded you say gg bcz you dont have recollect.
Yeah say im a noob but you r the noob saying stuffs like that

by Cr4k3n17 on 2006-04-11 07:10 MDT

I arrived 15 minuts later to the final and i take to game loss

P: DrogbaPT you are a noob
1575 DrogbaPT 1554 <----- HAHhAahhAAhHAhHAHAAh

by Rotstejn on 2006-04-11 07:24 MDT

I tested the version and it's not that good ...
I really prefer Brachts New Version (not the one with boomerang !!!)

by Alandariel on 2006-04-11 08:01 MDT

If you tested that deck and it's not good, it's because you're among the many "geniuses" who don't know how to play Heartbeat correctly.

I don't, honestly. I've never played/tested the deck or anything. Hence I don't run it.

Aye, having one card for a win condition in your entire deck IS tad absurd. Ivory Mask, Remand, other counterspells... all of them could easily stop that. Also Story Circle, Persecute... the list goes on. However, the deck won the trial for a reason. Don't flame it if you lost to it or didn't play against this guy running it.

Check and mate.

by tato- on 2006-04-11 08:18 MDT

wtf...that Heartbeat is really really bad...lol..

by Manipulation on 2006-04-11 08:24 MDT

The second deck's labeled BW Aggro, but it looks awfully Ghost Dad-ish to me.

Congrats roocker. I didn't think Heartbeat was all that hot in the current Standard metagame, and it's possible you just got lucky, but odds are it was more than that, so congrats.

by AlexTrebek on 2006-04-11 08:27 MDT

Story Circle won't stop Maga, Alan. It's life loss

by synch987 on 2006-04-11 08:41 MDT

i imagine people would be expecting a bracht SB, and hence they would misplay it after the board

maybe he got lucky, but if you understand the probability, everyone has a few percent chance of winning. skill only accounts for the tiny difference between each players chances

and what is wrong with ghost dad and hand in hand as names?

by asamodious on 2006-04-11 09:22 MDT

That heartbeat deck gets completely beaten by ivory mask. But i dont think anyone even ran that card at all during this trail.

by Rotstejn on 2006-04-11 09:32 MDT

Thats strange I went 25-3 or something with my decklist and went 18-8 with this one :'( ..

by Aaron on 2006-04-11 09:40 MDT

all i have to say is gj to roocker. He definetly had some guts to play that version but hey if you get the job done why not.

Its better to be lucky than good, but when a good player gets lucky.....

by TIm_54 on 2006-04-11 10:18 MDT

ive been playing heartbeat since ravnica first came out (not on here) and this build is realybad.

by Danker on 2006-04-11 11:44 MDT

I'm Testing heartbeat since I saw bracht's list and that list is totally nuts, if u don't know anything about playing that deck then you should stfu and win like roocker did.

by Spliff on 2006-04-11 12:09 MDT

Are all People in Magic-league Absolute Morons, Am i the only one who recognizes that list..... Check the Japanese Grand Prix under Asahara its his version of heartbeat......He placed 2nd with his team. Also Ringman, there are 4 tops in his deck. Drawing top vs b/w = Win

by ShaunD on 2006-04-11 12:24 MDT

ringman obv doesnt have a high enough rating to play in the trial.

by ringman on 2006-04-11 14:10 MDT

shaund i maybe do not play alot like you in here but i would like to see your rating in real life and see if you go to nationals with only 15 years old

by Bejeezus on 2006-04-11 14:34 MDT

Anyone so far who has been bad-mouthing the deck is a complete retard.
As Kev said, this version of Heartbeat is very fast and quite efficient.
Sure, it has a weakness to Ivory Mask, but when was the last time you seen Ivory Mask in a competitive deck? Come on, get real, roocker is a good player and he was playing a good deck.
- Bejeezus

by Counterlife on 2006-04-11 14:44 MDT

You scrubs need to stop hating. Sick of this "LOL noob list" bull. Besides, I dont care what anyone says, BW aggro is a slow archetype compared to alot of other aggro decks, just has more removal/disruption to back it up.

by Derek on 2006-04-11 14:52 MDT

Go cr4k3n Go

by TugaChampion on 2006-04-11 15:02 MDT

I said the noobs trial not because of the decks. It was because it was a +1700 trial and in fact it wasn't a very good trial.

by kikimikejiki on 2006-04-11 15:19 MDT

tha tlist was akira asharas form the teamp gp whats wrong with that even tho i dont like it myself

by nickle on 2006-04-11 16:27 MDT

Alandariel, as you said it yourself, you have neverplayed the deck, it has counter backup and is a really good deck in the right hands, so please STFU if you don't know what you are talking about.

by Von_Douche on 2006-04-12 09:20 MDT

"and see if you go to nationals with only 15 years old"

lololol ringman = pedophile.

He's gloating the fact that he went to his random-ass-country's nationals with a 15 year old.

by Xic0 on 2006-04-12 10:22 MDT

lol

by crew on 2006-04-12 18:46 MDT

Lol @ Von, you guys are always high and see the odd things out of the bunch.

I don't think he meant he went with a 15y/o, I'd say he was trying to say that he's 15 y/o. Saying he went with a 15 year old wouldn't help his case much, unless he's like 9 or something lol. But that doesn't mean that he won't turn out to be a pedophile when he grows up, you could still be right.

Damn you ringman.

Also, I'm checking out the decklist section now for the flaming and bitterness, it's funny, the decklists can't even compare to the comments.

by h0m3r on 2006-04-15 02:41 MDT

this heartbeat list is easier to play with but of course nowhere near as versatile. adding more weird harvests means you don't always have to transmute for it to go off meaning that its generally quicker, and since the easiest way to win is obv. to weird harvest for your combo its more likely to find an quick weird harvest.

however, since its lacking its transmute targets it means your plan is very single-minded. you just have to find weird harvest, cast it, and win, rather than having the option of playing savage twister to buy more time, or boomerang to bounce troublesome needles and ivory masks.

it looks to me like a very basic list that would be easy to just pick up and play, but might have trouble against a varied field (i.e. one with control in it)
