PolarBearGod on 2006-04-02 17:55 MDT I'm sure I'm missing the obvious, but what's the Kirin for? The Mirror? by Alandariel on 2006-04-02 18:04 MDT wtf
by anatomyOF on 2006-04-02 18:42 MDT Just plain weird. The single Kirin in the Ghost Dad is intrigueing, hmm I have no idea. by Manipulation on 2006-04-02 19:11 MDT I never ran into it when I played him, but mana screw does tend to do that... by ChristPunchr on 2006-04-02 21:02 MDT interesting lists. Kirin is definetly for the mirror match...well to be more specific; the match against more conventional BW decks, it is a pretty well recieved tweak to the deck on several forums. by Bejeezus on 2006-04-02 23:01 MDT UWR Control is a very strong and underrated archtype in this metagame. And it's only going to get stronger with Dissension.
by super-gecko on 2006-04-02 23:07 MDT Absolute blasphemy that pinkkis doesn't play firemane. Just had to say that...
by ADraw- on 2006-04-03 00:31 MDT No it's not blasphemy. Firemane is like GOOD good only in the mirror match, which you normally shouldn't see. Unfortunately, Pinkkis faced the mirror TWICE in the 5 or 6 rounds. The recurration ability costs way too much. It loses to every single dragon in combat, which Descendant does also, but a) Descendant survives Wildfire b) has teh guts synergy with Meloku c) brings you out of burn range against zoo/gruul d) is your best win condition against Owling Mine e) he rapes any aggro that doesn't run the full discard package etc. Why Meloku should be played should be obvious (note that Affinity didn't play him). Meloku just wins so many games and he has to be answered very quickly. The deck isn't actually optimal for the mirror match, but we didn't expect to see any mirrors out there. In fact, we hadn't faced a single mirror whole day before the trial.
by Alandariel on 2006-04-03 02:14 MDT I don't believe you.
by Walaoumpa on 2006-04-03 03:16 MDT What do you guys think about the MD tech of giant solifuge? by ChristPunchr on 2006-04-03 04:04 MDT "Meh" on the solifuge tech.
by Dzy on 2006-04-03 05:19 MDT Meloku > Firemane any day by ADraw- on 2006-04-03 06:28 MDT @Dzy: Agreed. Meloku is just waaaay better.
by Rotstejn on 2006-04-03 06:31 MDT Meloku in a deck full off land is a bad matchupp for Zoo/Gruul :D
by Dan_G on 2006-04-03 06:35 MDT wheres the zur's weirding by Meatwarz on 2006-04-03 08:36 MDT WUR? Hmm..good metagame choise when now the Meta is full of BW Aggros...
by Pinkkis on 2006-04-03 13:03 MDT When I played against affinity I mulliganed to 3 in first game and 5 in second :P. In mirror thats pretty bad (and Affinity was playing better version if you think about mirror). So i actually had no chances at all. And with my luck it was gg. by Shagrath on 2006-04-03 13:46 MDT solifurge in main with this current metagame? omg by Spacies on 2006-04-03 18:00 MDT In the pt there were only 2 wur decks played and one got 15th spot the other went 0-x drop lol played by julien n, and yea there lists werent exactly optimal as stated earlier.
by 3BlackKnight on 2006-04-03 18:25 MDT I know I played a URW Control with Wierding this weekend and it did awsome. Had problems with IzzetTron and B/W control but that is fixable. by synch987 on 2006-04-10 10:03 MDT there has to be a better name than WUR control, maybe giant angel control for the winner |
