8th April Limited Master: Top8 Interviews

Written by DARKING on April 09, 2012

Another 2 weeks, another Master tournament. The format this time was limited, with a Innistrad/Dark Ascension sealed followed by a booster draft, just in time to savor this format that soon shall be gone. In the end, these eight players made it to the top:

CMA-Flippi
Name, age and nationality: Philip, 23, German.
What deck did you build and what were some of its key cards? I built a BW evasion deck. The keycards are probably Death's Caress and Lingering Souls.
Which common card you would love to open in pack 1 of the draft? Nephalia Seaskite.
Spoilers for Avacyn Restored have started. Your thoughts so far: I am not a fan of creatures getting better and better. That demon for 4 mana goes in the same direction.
What would you love to see on Magic-League? More high profile discussions about formats and plays. More in depth strategy talk by the players.
Anything else you'll like to add? There is not much luck in Limited formats.

Mastikor
Name, age and nationality: Oliver Mastilero, 28, Philippines.
What deck did you build and what were some of its key cards? Aggressive RW with 2 Nibilis of the Mist and 2 Skillful Lunge ^^
Which common card you would love to open in pack 1 of the draft? Tragic Slip.
Spoilers for Avacyn Restored have started. Your thoughts so far: Mindblowing, I kinda like the miracle mechanic but I fear a lot of issues regarding it.
What would you love to see on Magic-League? Videos ;p
Anything else you'll like to add? Hello to team new wave (where are u guys?) and team MEJOR.

gobbuman
Name, age and nationality: Matt Finn, 21, Australian.
What deck did you build and what were some of its key cards? UG with no bombs. Stars were my 2 Griptides.
Which common card you would love to open in pack 1 of the draft? Fires of Undeath.
Spoilers for Avacyn Restored have started. Your thoughts so far: Loving the new angels coming through! Can't wait to see how well they fit into standard.
What would you love to see on Magic-League? More Australian players and some more Aus friendly trial times!
Anything else you'll like to add? Thanks alot to Moscowdemon! The master ran super smoothly!

Ansore
Name, age and nationality: Andre Reis, 16, Portuguese.
What deck did you build and what were some of its key cards? RWb (splash for Olivia). Well, I could almost build a mono White deck with my pool, since white was so good, but then I saw Olivia.
Which common card you would love to open in pack 1 of the draft? Erdwal Reaper.
Spoilers for Avacyn Restored have started. Your thoughts so far: It's riddiculous. I hope they're revealing the most OP cards and then show us the rest. Everyone's getting scared with this new edition.
What would you love to see on Magic-League? More eternal formats tournaments. And more people playing those tournaments.
Anything else you'll like to add? Yes, I would like to thank #portugal and team Mimimi!

Dantalion
Name, age and nationality: Sebastian, 25, German.
What deck did you build and what were some of its key cards? RB aggro-control with basically just small dudes and Hellrider (which I never casted) to smash through for the win. The best card for me was Skirsdag High Priest in combination with Skirsdag Cultist which won most of the games.
Which common card you would love to open in pack 1 of the draft? Tragic Slip.
Spoilers for Avacyn Restored have started. Your thoughts so far: All the cards spoiled so far are really good in limited (which is the only format I play). The rares seem to be a bit over the top powerlevel-wise and I hope the format won't be as bomb-dominated as other formats have been.
What would you love to see on Magic-League? More Sealed Masters.
Anything else you'll like to add? I think the staff does a great job and I hope ML will grow and prosper.

BarneyStinso
Name, age and nationality: Mario Flores, 19, Mexican.
What deck did you build and what were some of its key cards? RG Werewolves with keys: Manor Gargoyle and Wild Hunger.
Which common card you would love to open in pack 1 of the draft? Sanctuary Cat.
Spoilers for Avacyn Restored have started. Your thoughts so far: I only see one card: Sigarda, Host of Herons and i like it!
What would you love to see on Magic-League? Tournament teams!
Anything else you'll like to add? Deja de hacer proyecto queretaro L

EL_MAGO
Name, age and nationality: Tiago, 19, Portugal.
What deck did you build and what were some of its key cards? I did an agressive RG splashed with Olivia, maybe the key cards in the tournament, were Olivia (ofc), and Charmbreaker Devils.
Which common card you would love to open in pack 1 of the draft? Tragic Slip,
Spoilers for Avacyn Restored have started. Your thoughts so far: I hadn't paid much attention yet, but my opinion is there are some powerful friends to unburial rites, and i've got much hope on the "Blink" creature
What would you love to see on Magic-League? I love Magic-League, really, but I would love to have more players to play against and more articles to learn something, cause in the rest, Magic-League is almost perfect.
Anything else you'll like to add? Keep playing everyone, and always, always have fun in MTG :)

DARKING
Name, age and nationality: Eduardo Tavitas, 24, Mexican.
What deck did you build and what were some of its key cards? BRu, with bombs such as Olivia Voldaren and Grimgrin, Corpse-Born, and 11 removal spells.
Which common card you would love to open in pack 1 of the draft? Stormbound Geist.
Spoilers for Avacyn Restored have started. Your thoughts so far: They seem cool. And Miracle reminds me a lot of shield triggers from Duelmasters.
What would you love to see on Magic-League? More people, and lot more interaction to the site (articles, videos, tournaments).
Anything else you'll like to add? Everyone, keep Magic-League fun, and tell all your friends about it.
