What deck did you choose and why: Elfball because i am expirienced with it. It's the best deck and i like playing decks i designed ;)
What do you think about your chances in the top 8: Not bad, but you never know in Magic.
Do you like the new split format Pro Tour, now that we have seen it: I dislike it, I just don't like that you can break constructed or limited, go x-0 there and still not make Top 8.
What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: I think Stax will have a good weekend.

Teh_Blues
Name: Hayden Dale
Age: 15
Occupation: High school student
Record: 5-1-1
What deck did you choose and why: Faeries because its the best deck in the format besides maybe elves. And i'm ptqing with it.
What do you think about your chances in the top 8: Not great. I think my list is pretty bad and not very good in the meta.
Do you like the new split format Pro Tour, now that we have seen it: I guess but I prefer constructed so I wouldn't really be happy playing in it.
What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: I don't play Legacy so don't know. Counterbalance Top?

HHH1
Name: Dominick Karmiche
Age: 14
Occupation: student
Record: 5-0-2
What deck did you choose and why: i chose bant because its too good, I think i'm going to make the finals
What do you think about your chances in the top 8: I like it. It seems like it would make it funnier
What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: I think any deck playing counterbalance Top Dredge and Goblins will do good

mtgsoldier
Name: Rui Teixeira
Age: 18
Record: 5-0-2
What deck did you choose and why: I play with rw Reveillark in t2, I thought this was a t2 Master. When i realised it was extended, it was too late already. Then i said to myself "you will play until you lose 1 match". And thats it, i didnt lose.
What do you think about your chances in the top 8: My main deck is good and even being a t2 deck, can take down the majority of Extended decks. Although, my sideboard is very bad to the extended meta, so I think it will be  almost impossible to win against combo.
Do you like the new split format Pro Tour, now that we have seen it:  At first I didnt like the idea, but now I see that it is a way to make the top players in that tournament better because they have to prepare for constructed and limited aswell.
What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: I'm a massive constructed player, i dont play legacy a lot because in Portugal there are almost no legacy tournments. So I'm a little out, but my guess will be Goblins cause its fast and brutal.

hike
Name: Paulo Henrique Teston
Age: 20 years old
Occupation: Law student
Record: 5-1-1
What deck did you choose and why: RGw, I like it and I have been training with it for some time.
What do you think about your chances in the top 8: I think I have a shot.
Do you like the new split format Pro Tour, now that we have seen it: I dont even have a DCI#, so I'm not in condition to have an idea about it.
What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: PV's deck obviously, I love him <3

Scale
Name: Tobias Fjellander
Age: 20
Occupation: Clerk
Record: 5-1-1
What deck did you choose and why: Fae, I like it alot and its good
What do you think about your chances in the top 8: Not that great
Do you like the new split format Pro Tour, now that we have seen it: It makes it more entertaning
What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: Counterbalance + Top

Aardvark
Name: Mario Michlits
Age: 30
Occupation: Journalist
Record: 5-1-1
What deck did you choose and why: I chose my special version of Bant Aggro, because I love to play aggro-control and had to test it for the upcoming PTQs here in Austria
What do you think about your chances in the top 8: Hope I get paired against aggro first and the get lucky against fairies.
Do you like the new split format Pro Tour, now that we have seen it: Split pro tour??? Never heard of it.
What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: Didn't know there was a GP in Chicago. If it is Extended, there will probably be a lot of zoo and faeries performing well <KeySam>: Actually, it's  Legacy <Aardvark> oh. Don't ask me about legacy. Got no idea what this format is like.

clemage
Name:  Clément Lesaege
Age:  17
Occupation: Student
Record: 6-0-2
What deck did you choose and why: I choose a Naya Aggro because I looked at the trials' results after round 2 (because I had 2 Byes) and I saw that it is a better deck to win (but probabilities are probabilities).
What do you think about your chances in the top 8: High, because during tests I saw good results and because I had 2 byes.
Do you like the new split format Pro Tour, now that we have seen it: I tried but I never qualified at a PT, so I don't know the split format Pro Tour.
What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: Probably decks using graveryard, but why not a good old burn?

Less trolling esib :/

The only thing I wanted to bring up is...nice job KeySam on going 6-1-1 in a seven round master :D

Also, nice to see a bit of variety in the top 8 :)

by Wiley on 2009-03-09 20:41 EST

"What decks do you think will be successful at GP Chicago: I don't play Legacy so don't know. Counterbalance Top?"

Best prediction ever.

To be honest at the end i was pretty tired, its a bit stressful to tc and play a master, especally in the first rounds.

That is no excuse. You should be dejudged forever for your error.
