Today is the top 8 playoff of the 2007 World Championship. The top 8 competitors are Christoph Huber, Koutarou Otsuka, Katsuhiro Mori, Uri Peleg, Gabriel Nassif, Roel van Heeswijk, Yoshitaka Nakano, and Patrick Chapin. The question of the day is:
Who do you think will win Worlds today, and why?
Lennin: uri peleg will win
MTGmanLA: id say Nassif and Chapin because I just spent 120 bucks ordering that D-storm deck so it better do good. =/
TwoTrees: I think Roel van Heeswijk will be World Champion 2007. He is am amazing european player that many people do not recognize. I believe the road through the top 8 will be easiest for him, contrary to what most would believe. Nassif or Chapin said themselves that their bad matchup was the G/B rock decks with cards like thoughtseize. Likely, Roel will go through two dragonstorm decks and play in the finals.

Amateur on 2007-12-09 11:23 MDT Randy and BDM tested it and said that even getting 2 early Thoughtseize the DStorm deck still won, because Roel's deck doesn't have a lot of pressure. And only having 4 cards that disrupt you is not that bad (Maybe more if they can get Liliana up in time).

DS is not soo good, it just have a good performance because nobody were expecting it and the trick with the snow lands also work out pretty good for them (played them to make opponents think they were playing "Skred Red"), the best deck in this enviroment won an !!aggro-control deck!! and obviouslly an skilled player
