Metagame of the week (CW 28) Standard (T2)
Written by JohnnyBravo on July 17, 2012 Hello and welcome back to the third edition of
Here we go; that’s the week from July 9 to July 15, have been played 25 Tourneys, 2 Trials and 1 Master, for a total of 369 decks. Decks were arranged in order of attendance. At the end you can find a short Metagame analysis made by me, an observation on Metagame changes compared with last week considering the introduction of M13.
Naya Pod after two weeks always in Tier 1, finally conquers the podium of the most played deck (10.02%), although unfortunately lost a few percentage points in the win rate ranked third. If the former was a black Metagame that's certainly all green, as in the second and third place of attendance, we find the Mono Green Aggro, with a good win rate of 51.28%, and Infect, albeit with a slightly negative rate of 48.48%. The best version of infect, it is certainly the Mono Green. Here's example decklists of the two popular approaches with Rancor:
The Wolf Run has some good deck more than the last week, while the strong UW Delver falls further down in seventh place. On the other hand it is precisely at the podium with an excellent win rate of 66.66%. The Goblin seems to be the best version for mono red (50% win rate). And the dear zombies, even slipping from first to ninth. The good news came this week is the GW Aggro. A deck that tries to take full advantage of some of the best cards of the last set: Rancor, Thragtusk, Sublime Archangel, and Ajani. So, I would say that the card of the week is definitely Rancor, which judging by the results it has all the qualities to be considered one of the best enchant creature in Magic: the Gathering.
